We're not trying to cancel George. We're trying to verify the legitimacy. If George has the right to post this content, nothing will come of this and we can feel some slight comfort in what they're doing. If they're posing as something they're not, they'll be promptly removed. That's not cancel culture. That's exposing deception.
PS: I, like you, have been defending George. Check out my history. I only want what's best, and true, for all my fellow Patriots. George included, so long as they are who they say they are.
This method reminds me of how Sleeping Giants and Media Matters operates with asking if someone else is stealing their copyright under the presumption of guilt, especially when it's broadcasted for others to see, spectate, and speculate.
If it's true that you have George's best interests in mind, then persume innocence and leave them be.
My email to them: "Checking in with your videos, it appears a youtube channel "George News" is using all of your videos with DoD marks. This appears to be against your policy without express written consent. Can you confirm or deny George's eligibility to use these videos? Looking out for misinformation and advantage takers during these trying times. Thank you!"
In general, DoD VI that are works of authorship prepared by U.S. Government employees as part of their official duties are not eligible for copyright protection in the United States; however
Many official publications are not protected by copyright, and the content/text may be freely reproduced. That said, if the cover, title page, etc. of the publication contain DoD trademarks, those marks must be removed prior to dissemination.
Intellectual Property Restrictions. Military Department and other DoD component names, insignia, seals, symbols and similar marks may be protected as trademarks or service marks and may not be used in commerce without prior written permission. DoD Component Trademark Licensing Office contacts may be found at https://dod.defense.gov/Resources/Trademarks/.
