People spend tons and tons of money on something just to feel different for the day/night. But once the next day comes around, reality strikes back and we are left feeling crappy, aka a hangover. Even worse, society pushes through advertising on how "great" it is through luxurious marketing. When really, there is nothing about it that makes it awesome. This is only my honest opinion on this commodity. I respect everyone's opinion as each individual is different in their own unique way. It was always something I thought recently after being awakened to the world at large.
If this seems like a doomer post, I offer my sincere apologies as that was never my intention!
You can make this argument about anything. "Oh this guy waitied in line for 3 hours just to ride the rollaer coaster" You can consider that a waste of time but was it really? No because it wasn't your time. It was theirs
Qlso if you drink responsibly you wont get hangovers. I was drinking last night and i feel fine right now this morning.
it's all about perspective
Oh yeah it's definitely about perspective! I understand that. If people consume it responsibly, then there's nothing wrong. It's more so when there is no comprehension of that responsibility and they go all over the place. That's when it gets dangerous.
I think there may be more to your comment regarding how enthusiastically alcohol is pushed on us via marketing, lobbying, social norms and the culture revolving around it. Something about that never sat right with me and I enjoy a drink every now and then but I do not like even being buzzed.
It's also very interesting to watch what is going on with the legalization of cannabis across the country and what its relationship looks like from the above angles when compared to alcohol.
It's also important to know the history of the plant and why it carries the reputation it does today: https://cannabislifenetwork.com/breaking-cannabis-stigma/
Not to derail any further, but the evolving relationship between the two 'acceptable' perception-altering substances may yet reveal even more of what we suspect regarding a cabal that will provide any means we'll willingly accept to kill us en masse, even if it takes generations.
My daddy use to say, "If you could show me where taking a drink ever helped make even one thing better in someone's life, I would agree with you, that drinking is good." Drinking certainly not improved my reputation, and even now I am fighting off the urge to go get a touch of the potato.
I dance better after wine.
What's a hangover? Is that when you wake up drunk? I've had that a lot.
Most things in moderation are great, glass of wine with dinner beer with lunch. You’re right though, drink responsibly. My sister and brother can’t, some people just can’t stop at one. My sister has a problem, she passed out in a restaurant bathroom and was taken to the emergency room. My mom went to see her and she just kept saying “I only had a couple”. It’s genetic unfortunately for my family, my fathers mother and father died from alcohol poisoning.
