Everyone freaked out when they saw this pic, without any knowledge of the situation. Took me two minutes to find this maneuver listed in the MPLS Police handbook. It's perfectly legal and actually almost impossible to kill someone like this.
100%
dude died of overdose, not knee
If he even died, they yes it was an overdose.
Plus turns out it wasn't his first overdose from swallowing drugs right before being busted either.
I hear that his twin brother down in Texas is doing well.
Also, if you watch the video there are a handful of times where Floyd was able to lift his head and neck up slightly.
If he's able to do that, then logically there was not enough pressure placed on the neck to suggest he died from the knee hold.
If you can talk for more than a few sentences, you can fucking breathe.
Yeah some black woman being arrested near here a few weeks after this was screaming that at the top of her lungs and I'm not sure if it was a bystander or one of the arresting officers (some of whom were black and not buying her shit either) who commented "you're awfully loud for someone saying that they can't breath."
I fuckin love logic.

The part that was bad to me was that he kept his knee on the neck despite a crowd forming around telling him to let off the neck or he could die.
Optically it was beyond stupid to continue that while ignoring the pleas from the crowd. That was a recipe for disaster, and police should have known better. That was ridiculous.
Yeah, bending the knee and supplicating to mobs has worked out so much better for everyone.
Exactly the point. They stupidly and stubbornly ignored a potential powder keg for what appeared just to avoid ‘bending the knee’ (So to speak.) That was just asinine. And look what happened. Anyone could have predicted what would ensue.
Chauvin is not innocent.
He is a dirty cop.
Is he innocent of killing George Floyd via knee? yes.
However, he could very well be implicated in making sure he died.
I don't have any of the sauce with me, but there is a pretty plausible theory that the nightclub both floyd and chauvin worked at (remember they had a working relationship...) was a dirty money scheme connected with FBI. Floyd got handsy with the fake cash (he tried to pass a fake $20 to the convenience store who called the cops on him) because he was addicted to fentanyl. So addicted, he was speedballing (you can take double or triple the deadly dosage by combining with meth to bring you heart beat back up, allowing for a bigger high)... problem is you need to re-up the meth in order to survive. Chauvin interrupted that process, causing floyd to go into delirium (because he was going to die, and he knew!) and fatally low pulse not allowing oxygen to get to his body properly. Anyway, the theory goes that Chauvin restrained him as to make sure floyd died of his own devices.
At the end o the day, he will get a very light sentence if anything, and BLM 2 will commence, gun violence will happen, probably another school shooting, and then boom no more guns.
atleast that's what they (/_) are planning
NCSWIC
Of course Chauvin is a dirty cop -- he's metro PD.
Which enforces rather than negates the idea that this was a psyop.
I’d forgotten all about that shady connection they might have had.
The whole point is to keep the detained individual (as well as other) safe from himself in a state of excited delirium
Largely because the spine is in the way. You'd have to get paralyzed from the neck down before you can suffocate.
You're absolutely right. Here's an NBC news article that talks about it. It specifically says,
"The version of the Minneapolis Police Department's policy manual that is available on-line, however, does permit the use of neck restraints that can render suspects unconscious, and the protocol for their use has not been updated for more than eight years."
