Yeah it’s bullshit but since you know it is it won’t be as effective against you.
I get not going into debt but having the degree does allow one to make more money, people who can go for free have no excuse not to. Of course there are exceptions but we’re big on stats and the stats don’t lie.
There are those within Higher Education that make a good difference. Work for a Professor teaching 400 level ecology. Professor is hardcore on Global warming dooming but makes me happy when I see students openly questioning why they are told. They learned sea level has risen 150 meters in the last 10,000 years cycling out of global ice age. Then Teacher says our Human activities have made Sea level rise 7 inches sense 1880 industrial revolution. Makes me happy when a student says if it changed that much without human intervention how do we know its 100% our fault it continued to rise that 7 inches. People need to just question information instead of be told what we are to do about it.
College use to require an IQ and quite a bit of consciousness to finish it within four years. But now, college is a test of your willingness to accept the academic authority which tells you that the number one ethical responsibility of a human being is achieving equality; equality of not just opportunity but equality of outcomes.
Generally the people with I.Q's that don't need to ad a double digit number to get their I.Q into the triple digits tend to go for STEM and physical skill based educations(tool and die makers and automation educations are a growing field since they run the machines that make everything else and also make the tools and parts needed to make and run the machines that make these machines)
Not always true as far as colleges go. Many make a better choice for themselves and enter a trade school/community college. During my college (trade) teaching days, I taught MANY that were a hell of a lot smarter than most that graduated larger universities. They landed high-paying jobs right after graduation as well. Heck, being in industry myself for over 35 years, I placed dozens of them with local companies..
I went to college for a little while on a grant. Once my grant money ran out I stopped going. I'm 3 credits from having an associates degree. Lol. Im getting paid the same as mosy of my co workers with the same responsibilities but i dont have student debt
College is often an iq test. There are some exceptions like if you want to be a doctor you have to go, but if you go to college you're probably dumb or, at best, a midwit.
Not all degrees are created equal. I wouldn't trade my education for anything. It is incredibly empowering. Having said that, I do not think it is the only way, or even a probable path, towards a fulfilled life.
I think there will come a time when it becomes a positive again, once we clean house in the Universities and promote other viable paths towards economic success.
I think at least in my state community college is okay to learn a skill, but university has been a waste of money, feels more like think like us. I am thankfully escaping the grasp of my university after this semester. I will not get locked into owing this racket anything. Funny how most of the answers are online too! Just a whole lot of people collectively wasting time and money. I made a point to someone in my neighborhood at least with my degree, your really only going to become a teacher which I personally feel is kinda bullshite; teachers should not require a bachelor's. Kind of like hey you have to be indoctrinated into this way of thinking to benefit the youth of the next generation...
College is the final brainwashing destination for the public school system. It’s also where the most indoctrination takes place.
Dude don’t let anyone convince you to quit.

That is communism.
Technical degrees still worthwhile any general studies or soft subjects are a failed IQ test.
I went into the Marines where my real education began. Now my friends who went to college years later feel cheated.
I have a 150 IQ and will graduate in May, but okay...

I had a GT score of 129 when I entered the Army. It was higher than ANY college graduate in the entire battalion.
I've seen a lot of them go in on sports scholarships, get (not earn) advanced degrees, not even qualified to wipe a$$es for a living.
I unfortunately did not realize how much of a waste of money college was until I paid for it.

It's paper. If you need paper, get it quickly and cheaply.
