just easier than saying “hey there’s a guy with a pitchfork stabbing people”.

Might be easier, but it is not accurate. Does accuracy somehow not count at all?

If someone has a fully auto vs. a pitch fork, you would not roll in with the same expectations. That must have SOME value to law enforcement.

Seems weird.
