120 years is a VERY specific number, one that cant be an accident.
Genesis 6:3 states;
Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”
Now, according to the Bible, back in the days people lived to be nearly 1000 years old (supposedly), than after the flood that changed. Who knows if thats true. Could be pre-flood technology that was lost. The argument that it was 'higher oxygen levels' imo is BS. But that is all another topic.
My main point is that the 120 years isnt the length of mans actual lifespan. As humans rarely even make it to 100, most around 80 +/-, and less back in the days due to lake of health tech.
Its said that the 120 'years' was a prophecy of 'Jubilee' cycles, and that equals 6000 years from creation, which could have recently or soon be the end of the 6000 years.
That verse clearly states God is saying he would put up with humans bullshit because they are MORTAL, which implies certain humans are attempting to be IMMORTAL. Adrenochrome?

I always pray for the Holy Spirit to teach me all the things I need to know before I listen. Yesterday I had a strong feeling that The Great Awakening has something to do with Jubilee, wherein, "all debts are forgiven, and all slaves are set free." Thank you for posting this. Longevity was due to purer genetics. The corruption over time shortened the living period due to the fall of man. Possibly science has slightly overcome that.

I was never religious and haven't read much of the Bible. But what if the decreased lifespan was due to a suppression of, or damage to, our connection with God?
I believe this is what has happened to us now as a result of being programmed since birth to believe we exist in this seemingly inescapable matrix of debt enslavement. That we are merely physical beings and promoting hedonistic lifestyles and to abandon God.
Maybe that spiritual connection is what kept our physical bodies free from disease?

Could be. Biblically, the separation is the Flood. The huge lifespans that make people go "No way, that can't be true, no one lives 900 years" are all pre-flood.
After the flood, they had more realistic lifespans.

Water canopy theory would totally account for this, since all the cosmic radiation would have been nullified by the water canopy, but I don't think that the water canopy is how it happened.
I believe the reason why humans used to live so long (supposedly) was because at the beginning there were few or no diseases, illnesses, sicknesses, etc. But as humanity continued and grew more and more sinful and co-mingled, more diseases started popping up and spread. The strength of humans dwindled as sicknesses grew. More mutations in the human genome grew as well, leading to cancers and disabilities and mental unwellness. Basically, the longer we are in this world, the sicker and weaker we get. This is just my interpretation though.
Maybe they had a perfect genome of DNA. As time progressed DNA corrupts more and more. Disease, faster aging, etc occur. This is kind of a reverse of darwins theory.

I can't remember the specifics of the Jewish law (this isn't the stuff that interested me) but I believe... I think every seven years you would have a sabbatical (take a year off from work, including farming) and every seven / seven years (I.E. 49) you would have a jubilee or... can't remember the name.
All debts were canceled.
You couldn't be in endless debt forever because at some point, every 49 years, your balance would go back to zero.
I think they had to come up with a few sidesteps so creditors wouldn't lose everything. And also so people wouldn't borrow large sums a year before those loans would be canceled.
There was something even bigger (maybe every seven units of 49 years? What would that be... 343 years? I'm just guessing at this point) that it was something even larger as a chance, but that's for the type that like to make the big predictions.
The 120 yr cycle in Genesis 6 directly ties into the sin of the “sons of god.” The fallen Elohim’ (watchers) that lay with the daughters of mankind. And their heinous (extremely sinful) teachings they taught us humans. The end of 120 yrs is directly tied to the abolishment of all sin (especially the watchers sin) at the end of the 120 yr jubilee cycle(s). 6000 yrs, right about now in the timeline. So yes, Biden’s sin is just as heinous as the watchers (child torture/sacrifice, satanism, lust, greed, witchcraft, sexual immorality, etc) and it is soon going to end! Praise the Lord!

Yes, but there is quite a bit more to it. These, Genesis 6 watchers, were a group of 200 fallen angles that procreated with human women. Their offspring were called nephilim. The nephilims descendants were then called rephaim. According to Enoch, when the nephilim died their spirits had no place to go since they were half human and half deity (lower case g). Those cast away spirits are now demons. The 200, of the watchers, (don’t know how many fallen are in total, but the Bible makes reference to 1/3 being cast out of heaven/counsel) that corrupted their 1st estate (sexual relations and other extreme sinful teachings) are now in bonds within the center of the earth until judgement day.
I asked my Chabaddic Rabbi about the Nephelim. His story went like this: There were angels watching mankind, and said they were obviously evil and it was absurd that they got away with so much. G-d responded: "Being in a physical body corrupts your view of good and evil. They are limited by that, and it's why they make mistakes."
The angels were not impressed. "That's absurd. The human beings are just deviant, it has nothing to do with them being in a physical body. We would not make those kinds of mistakes, body or no body."
G-d said: "Okay, we'll see about that."
And zam, the angels were born into human bodies -- though they kept their angelic memory and consciousness.

Maybe. This particular Rabbis a really nice guy. I like some of his answers more than others. He sometimes veers into the real esoteric answers which might be pretty but are not satisfying.
That’s a super interesting point of view. I would recommend reading the book of Enoch (chapters 1-16 will take no time at all to read thru). You can find it free on the internet. The 2nd temple Jews held the book of Enoch in very high regards. And, it definitely fills in a lot of the Old Testaments backstories. The book of Enoch unfortunately fell out of favor with the 4th century Christians and people today seem to be strangely scared of it. I’m an ‘ole moto crosser, so I jumped right into reading it. And am so glad I did!

Some years ago I had a job that enabled me to do a lot of reading during the long-stretches of down time. I read the Tanach from Genesis to Malachi, the Gospels, and the Koran (among other things).
But I never really touched the second temple period, even things like the book of Maccabbees. I just reviewed it once when I wrote a play about Chanukah, and realized that was just a couple chapters in a much longer work.
You’ll have to give me the back story about your play. I’m not studied at all on Chanukah.

Alexander the Great met the Jews in Israel. They were very interested in each other. (Both Greek and Jews have rich cultural inheritances, after all).
Sometime after Alexander's conquest, Antiochus came to power. He outlawed the study and practice of Judaism. Took over the temple. Used it to sacrifice pigs to Zeus.
The Jews themselves were divided. Some felt they should give up the traditions and join the Greeks (Hellenists). Others wanted to keep the faith of their fathers.
Some went to the caves outside the city to study Torah. When a Greek patrol came in sight, they hid the scrolls and pulled out spinning tops to play with. The Greek soldiers figured: "Oh, they're hiding in the caves to gamble." (This is where dreidels come from."
Eventually a rebel movement led by Judas Maccabee (at first) led a revolt and drove the Greeks out. (Big fight, since this is kind of like an Afghanistan driving out the Soviet Union, or the Vietnamese driving out the United States -- a small country driving out the military super power of its day).
They got the temple back and had to clean the whole thing out. Including relighting the eternal light. (This is where the story of only one day's oil left while it takes 8 days to prepare more, yet it lasted for 8 days, comes from).
Chanukah basically means rededication.
But since it falls in the Winter near Christmas, in America it became the "Jewish Christmas" with Jewish kids getting presents like their Christian friends do. It was really a minor holiday. Its prominence in the culture is due to this association.
Then, I think that you may not be able to put the book of Enoch down. The first handful of chapters are going to grab you right out of the gate! A lot of people separated it in three books and others divide it out more than that due to subject matter (over 100 shorter chapters in total). Another book about Enoch, the watchers, nephilim, etc. I’ve listens to on audible is: Reversing Herman by Dr Heiser. It’s helped me get a better grasp on angels, demons, prophecy, and allows me to qualify/quantify the whole ET thing (esp in regards to the new age push as well)
