I am fortunate to be in a Catholic school. We have been in person all year. Thank God we have been fine. Only two kids had to do virtual learning for a short period of time. The kids are masked, but I try to give frequent breaks. Theyre spaced out but manage to play together safely. I cant wait til rhis is over.

Well I disagree. That seems to be a rather judgmental remark. Their desks are spaced out, but they have time for interaction and are able to enjoy each other. I have much about which to feel happy because, although this situation isn't ideal, they are coming to school. They are seeing their friends. There is interaction. The learning environment is strong and they've made great progress and are where they should be academically considering they were learning from home for 12 weeks last year. They are proud of their accomplishments this year, and I am of them.
Is this ideal? Of course it isn't. I dont like this, but I love teaching and seeing my kiddos in person. This is much better than the virtual or hybrid alternative. We have had dozens of public school students come to us because they are fed up with virtual learning and hybrid learning. We are careful but you would not consider our school to look like prison.

The poor kids were running away from them, and they closed again because nobody--- neither teachers, parents or kids--- could stand the inhuman rules.

Not sure about the Plain community but I live in Lancaster County and almost all of the communities I live near didn't subscribe to the narrative. There were a few Amish owned businesses that hung mask signs and put down social distancing tape but didn't force anything on anyone.
I read most of the article - It makes more sense than most things I've read about this. My question - Is the covid 19 just a variant of the flu? It can't be just 'regular' flu because there was a marked, traceable progression of it (anecdotal, not tested) as it seemed to sweep across the country in 2020, starting in a pattern of cities with large international airports and then seemed to spread slowly from there. Too many people are stating that they had it and it was just like 'the worst flu I've ever had', etc., and it doesn't seem to be just the achy, URI type of flu. Also, the 'regular' flu would be ever-present throughout the US, just moving on to infect new people throughout all of US, urban and rural, not in what seems to be a distinct path. And, (I'm not a medical person) there have been many on here that have gone to their doctor for this flu (especially in the earlier months last year) and have actually tested 'negative' for the flu virus. What gives?
So..., lastly, if this is just a flu variant, then, is China off the hook for any nefarious virus leak? Why did Wuhan shut down due to the massive numbers of ill people? and the 'second wave'? China wouldn't voluntarily wall off a whole province for no reason - that would harm themselves with no benefit.

I went on a bit of an Amish binge last year, a few months before the Rona hit.
It was fascinating to learn about their way of life, which is just how most people lived in the past but they stuck with it. I really envied it for a bit. Working with your body, hard work that feels good and makes you sleep well. Just good honest people living pure simple lives off their land and having 20 kids and no influence from “The English” which is what they call all non-Amish. YouTube has some good series and documentaries on their. One I remember well was Amish kids trading places with non-Amish I guess it was a show at one time but that was good.

Yep, my youngest had it (18 months) and was basically a runny nose and slight fever that all went away on their own in about 4 hours.
