This man represents all Christians today who have to make a choice. What kind of Christian are you? Will you stand up for what you believe? Will you stand as a witness of Jesus Christ regardless of the consequences? The world wants to silence you and some would destroy you. It takes courage to be a Christian in today’s society. The man in the painting puts his hand on the shoulder of Christ not to say Jesus needs his help, but to imply that he receives his strength directly from the Lord. He holds up his right arm to say, “Silent, be still, for I know that Jesus is the Christ!”

Jesus drove the point home stating that John the Baptist was Elijah in spirit and power.
No different than saying Trump is Christ (which simply means anointed) in power and spirit.
