Correction: Every POWERED device with a circuit board...

If you save to a free standing hard drive (not plugged in) or USB memory stick, it would be unaffected.

thats actually not true at all.

the EMP causes arcing all over boards weather they are powered or not, frying out all sorts of components...

essentially... there is a reason all your new electronics come in static free bags.

an event like this would fuck up everything.

next time you see an old microwave on the side of the road, or yours stops working... don't throw it away... just use it as a cheap faraday cage.

perfect for storing hard drives, portable storage drives, walkies, things like that...
