I was left and hated myself until sometime in my thirties, then gradually saw through the programming. I'm not very quick-of-thinking. Lots of examples set to me by more balanced people helped.
So happy to be here with you guys now.
I love engaging with lefties. Many times I end up laughing in tears at their idiocy.
"So you believe and share all the same ideas as the billionaires that own the media? Weird, I didn't think you people trusted rich whiteys. Aren't Bill Gates (MSNBC), Ted Turner (CNN), and Rupert Murdoch (FOX) all billionaire white guys?"
For me, I was not taught to love myself. I am autistic and had serious self worth issues through being very different and very uncoordinated.
If you feel you can't compete, you have set rules for equal outcome and hate and punish anyone who doesn't work by your rules. My parents were heavily indoctrinated. I didn't know any history and was only exposed to left wing ideas.
Classic stuff and painful to change from. Yuri Bezmenov would have given up on me. But I pulled myself out, mostly out on my own with logic.
My lefty partner is still stuck in that angry place where she only trusts big government to make things right. She, against the evidence, doesn't believe in evil in high places.
Oh yes, I agree. Transparency and oversight for those in positions of authority. Proper sanctions for abuse of power, just like you would for an abusive person in a family relationship, sanctions such as losing your position of trust permanently.
btw. I am a lot more open, forgiving and tolerant than my partner.
^^^Yes I have been saying this. Sometimes I just go full woke to make the left seem ridiculous. Yell at a jogger by themselves to put on a mask. People will start hating the left if they didn't already. lol
I've actually thought that the Republican Party should just abandon most of California, NYC, Chicago, Detroit and say....
"We're leaving. Show your people that you will improve their lives. To those voters that live here....when you are tired of nothing improving in 10 years, we'll come back. You might want to give us a chance then."
Pffft! Who am I kidding? We're talking about the Washington Generals vs. the Globetrotters. Uniparty all the way.
I don't think that's how it would play out. They call them useful idiots for a reason. They get away with cancel culture because it benefits the elites. Eventually it will stop benefiting the elites and they will put a stop to it - violently.
This normally happens after a successful revolution. The elites round up all the revolutionaries (useful idiots) and kill them off because they are now a threat to the newly established power structure. I.e. if you were willing to depose (cancel) the previous power structure, you might try to do it again when you see how fucked things are now.
Yes you are right.

They really are miserable bastards.

I have been doing this for at least three years, maybe five years if you include when I cancelled Comcast.

The left will never hate itself and if everyone did that you would make them pretty happy. That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.
