Live in a rural area outside a metro area, about 1 hour away. I always go shop at a grocery store, amd generally tend to go in maskless.
I head into the store, and try to smile at people ("the beautiful maskless"). I think decent looking people can peer pressure others.
Much to MY surprise i see 3 old ladies (70-80), MASKLESS, and I smile at them, and they smile back at me.
We're getting there. This is a marathon not a sprint team. The best things built in life take time to make but those investments stand the test of time.
Have a great day patriots get comfy We're not done yet.
Old black men in the supermarket are my favourite people. I loved chatting with them, before covid. They are always the most courteous and respectful men.
Reminds me of my barber. During the quarantine, I assumed he’d be closed. After we opened back up, went back to him finally and we were talking. They were open the whole time. Lol garbage bags over the windows did the trick! He’s one of my heroes down here.
me too! and funny, they love to laugh.
Sounds like your gonna miss out on talking to some fantastic people in your life.
Whoosh
For various and sundry reasons, I hadn't been out and about much the last few weeks. Yesterday was a nice day, so late afternoon I went out for a bike ride. I rode through some small towns and was stunned to see the restaurants and bars packed with people, dining not only outside, but inside, as well. It was more of a party atmosphere everywhere I rode. I was stunned. I barely saw a mask anywhere. The tide has definitely changed.
Wish it would in the UK. Even seen people jogging and cycling with masks on. :(
Give it time, fren. Your rebellious ex-countrymen to the west will get the ball rolling for you. ;-)

Rebellious would be good, sadly they are totally pathetic.
I've never worn a mask but have an exemption lanyard, wearing it less these days.
My wife bought me one because she was uncomfortable walking about with me whilst I wasn't wearing one (although I do carry that gov issued 'exemption' card).
I told my wife that I would only wear an exemption notice if it was on a background of a yellow star of David. I think she just hopes that I don't get us both beaten up.
My wife is a fearful person unfortunately - a result of poor parenting. Living with a person who doesn't really respond to fear must be trying for her :)
I'm in the UK: a friend got me one which is bright green with daisies on it, it has a card stating I have a medical condition. Think it came from the Asthma Society. Been a real life-saver - I cannot bear the idea of wearing a mask. Now I can travel and go into stores unchallenged.
I went to the bank yesterday and stood in line to cash my "economic relief payment". Probably 12 people in there and I was the only one without a mask. I've gone maskless the whole time and it's amazing to me how friendly everyone (even the armed and masked security guard) was to me. I just can't understand why everyone doesn't just quit wearing them. The programming runs deep I guess.
Not a bad angle, thanks
I’m in NH and was in the post office for ten minutes without a mask and nobody said shit to me. I just forgot to put it on and didn’t realize til I was walking to my car after
Same thing happened to me but only one with another lady. We had a great conversation and smiled a lot. It was beautiful.
Ever notice how everything the leftists attempt to do always backfires on them and creates the opposite effect? It would seem that the requirement to wear a mask, designed to intentionally distance people from one another, has now caused people to draw together even more closely than they would have if there had been no mask requirement at all.
I is utterly WONDERFUL to meet others who understand what is going on, specially younger people. Recently a nice but dim brainwashed neighbour started expressing doubts about the rona etc. which cheered me up. We are winning!
Older ladies are coming back to the Y, some after an entire year! In many cases, getting the vaccine makes them finally feel safe enough to venture out. Well at least they are getting out again.
In my community a lot of older people don’t wear masks. Even though one of the big grocery store chains says you have to wear a mask the workers openly tell people they don’t have to.
I keep hoping to see more free faces, didn’t see any today but I just stand tall and smile bigly:)
