I supplement with Vitamin D regularly, I just bought a bunch before Covid hit, and I was dreading buying anymore because I assumed it was going to be sold out or the price would be catastrophic; but no, nobody cares, in stock and the same price as ever.
Seems like they jacked the Vit D price up where I am when COVID started. But it’s normal now. They also spiked the price and wouldn’t re-stock hydrogen peroxide which is great with water as an anti viral gargle/mouthwash, among other uses. But you can pick that up at the dollar stores.
Not really. You can buy just zinc on amazon or at your local grocery store.
Now maybe massive doses of zinc may be pharma only, but even my 50mg supplement pills are probably too much to be taking daily
Just a FYI ;) It is possible to overdose on Vitamin D, because it's a fat-soluble vitamin. But you'd have to take 60,000 units a day for several months.
What is vitamin D toxicity? Should I be worried about taking supplements?
Answer From Katherine Zeratsky, R.D., L.D.
Vitamin D toxicity, also called hypervitaminosis D, is a rare but potentially serious condition that occurs when you have excessive amounts of vitamin D in your body.
Vitamin D toxicity is usually caused by large doses of vitamin D supplements — not by diet or sun exposure.
The main consequence of vitamin D toxicity is a buildup of calcium in your blood (hypercalcemia), which can cause nausea and vomiting, weakness, and frequent urination. Vitamin D toxicity might progress to bone pain and kidney problems, such as the formation of calcium stones.
Make sure you take a d3 supplement with k2 in it. That helps the distribution of it to go to the right places. It doesn’t need to be a high amount. One of my D3s has k2 in it and the other doesn’t. I take them at the same time. Dr Ken D Berry or Dr Eric Berg on YouTube (I know...) have tons of information re: good vitamins and what not. Worth checking out
I saw a video of a Doctor explaining it is not sufficient to rely on sunshine for your Vitamin D. Especially if you don't live in a very sunny area. People who do live in sunny areas often are darker with more melanin. The melanin doesn't let the sun in, protecting their skin. Lighter people try to avoid sun to prevent sun damage and skin cancer. The more north you are, the less sunshine.
The reason people become ill in the fall and winter is twofold:
Viruses thrive in cold temperatures
There's often less sun, so you're getting vitamin D in very small amounts.
The vitamin D isn't there to boost your immune system.
Vitamin D is also free. A much better and efficient version is just outside. Go get sunlight.
I supplement vitamin d, have for many years. It helps but it's nothing like going outside.
Supplements are great but they're only their to mask the issues. Go get sunlight, don't sit around getting diabetes and heart conditions.... which you'll just accept instead of trying to fix, as most do these days.

Yup. Zinc was a little harder to get at first but not that hard.
I can’t seem to find Zinc by itself. I get it in ZMA (zinc, magnesium, B6).
Zinc by itself is a pharma product.

I just got my bottle of D3 today and took one. Feel better already! Knowing I'm boosting my natural immunity.
Check the dosage. Mine are 4,000 units and I'm going to start doubling the dose after seeing this. I was taking 1 a day and am moving to 2 a day.

Do you go outside?
Getting enough vitamin d is crucial for health. So if exercise. Make sure you're going outside.
