I've seen some great posts about people's experiences going into a big box store without a mask and defying mask mandates. This is excellent and exactly what we need.
I personally stopped wearing a mask anywhere here in Ohio about 3 or 4 months ago. I have never wanted to make the store clerk or restaurant workers' job more difficult and awkward than it already is. But I decided I was done and would be a good example.
I keep one in my pocket in case some worker verbally asks me to wear one and I need something bad enough I can't walk out.
Thing is ... I have yet to be asked.
Workers just treat me normal. Other customers are inspired or emboldened.
Last week a woman approached me asking how I deal with people harassing me for not wearing a mask in the store bc she really wants to stop wearing it. I told her the above and she seemed so relieved.
Just be a free, clear thinking person. Hold your head high. Others will follow.
Live in Texas. Don't wear a mask and I am an anomaly. It is very disappointing to see. Where are the thinking rational people?
Same here, even at Walmart I am the omly one
The brainwashing is strong.
Cowardice even stronger.
Same here. I can't believe all these Texans are wearing masks. On a brighter note, I saw a truck the other day with a "censored" flag, a trump flag, and something else. Looked like a lawn cutting service. Will be looking for him to give him our business. Couldn't be more proud.
Florida is similar but the mask brain-washing is wearing off. I’ve inspired many people by bolding resisting. Some places really don’t care.
They are in Texas... all over really... they just arent in the cities. Go out to the counrty (Im serious...GO) and sample the freedom you will find there in banks, walmarts, restaurants, gas stations, etc etc.
It will do your heart good. Its worth a day trip just to seed your pyche.
I have not, do not, and will not wear a mask. The worst that can happen is the store ask you to leave. Thing is though, I've never had anyone say anything about masks in a store except for the big shopping malls which I rarely went to anyways.
In that mall, it was easy to tell that the security guard didn't agree with masks and just said that the mall wants people to wear the masks. I chose to leave and have not been back since. The upside is that I'm wasting less money by not buying shit I don't need and would rarely ever use.
I’m sorry but that was a missed opportunity. I’d have taken the hem of my dress at the bottom and hiked that bitch straight up over my face so my panties were showing. After Karen was nice and embarrassed I would’ve walked calmly out.
Yup, the worst they can do is ask you to leave. Sometimes it can be a major inconvenience but we have to stand for something and stand up to this bs.
Always make it a point to smile at others who can smile back! Maskers wouldn't understand it but we do!
The only time that I didn't wear a mask and regretted it was at a local drug store. There was just me and one other man in the store without a mask. Everyone else was masked. He and I happened to end up together in the check out line. We didn't physically distance or anything else. I asked him if he saw anything wrong with this picture. He replied "oh yeah, there's a lot wrong with this picture". Just then an elderly woman in front of us passed gas! I joked with the guy and said "I'll bet you wish you had a mask now!" We got a good laugh out of it.
Not worn a mask in Cali for a few weeks now. Sometimes store/restaurants/ gas stations ask me to wear a mask. It’s up to me to then decide if I will comply , most times NO. Sometimes I will if I have no alternatives but most times I will do a 180 and leave
I live in Ohio as well and this has been my exact experience. I haven’t been wearing mine in stores for a few months now and no one has said anything to me and I’ve even seen other people take their mask off after seeing multiple shoppers maskless. It’s refreshing to see to say the least
It still sucks here in PA. The mask nazis are in full force. I do not shop anywhere that will not let me in with a medical mask exemption lanyard. If they're that ignorant then I'd rather see my money spent at organizations with at least 1/2 of a brain. I go to the gym because I 100% have to. They require a mask. I wear a scarf. They've offered me a mask and I politely say no and continue on. They even want you to wear a mask in the pool area until you get in the water. My question is why? Don't you know that chlorine kills the coronavirus? The ignorance is still strong with people in this area.
I walked into a home depot and a worker was by the entrance sanitizing station. I asked her if they had a mask to give customers and she said, "no, but it's okay"(referring that I didn't need to wear one to shop). I went back a little later with my little girl, and we laughed and smiled at each other the whole time we shopped. People need to see that!
I'm in Canada and was a late adopter of masks only because most stores make it mandatory, and would have bouncers at the door to ensure enforcement.
Now I will just put on the mask to avoid confrontation at the door, let it fall to my chin while shopping unless confronted and do an emphatic roll eyes as I lift it up. As soon as I pay I remove the mask and leave, knowing that they can't legally stop me on the way out (paid for stuff).
The overwhelming majority don't wear masks outside of where mandatory.
This seems to be so daring and anti-social (against common norms), that it brings to mind the '60s when some women decided they could go topless at the beach. I actually think maskless is more affronting to current society than topless was way back then
The clerk told me a mask was mandatory and I said, "It's ok. I don't have covid." She was a little shocked and didn't ask again and finished helping me. Do you think people haven't realized that if we don't have covid, we can't give them covid??!!
In chicago I never wore a mask. Chicago is libtard central. You can imagine the looks and arguments I get in. But I still fight for all our freedoms in this corrupt shithole. Know I'm out there.
I certainly get tired of it and vote with my dollar going to stores that hassle me the least. I haven't been kicked out since the first month or so and have established my regular stores that earned my business where usually it's another shopper or an errant employee playing policeman. Usuatim able to refuse the situation but it is annoying.
I still don't though. Still the only one although I went to pick up a pizza this weekend and another guy in there waiting wasn't wearing a mask for the first time since March 2020. I almost gave him a hug.
I never have worn one in our town/city (I'm 2 miles out) even thought it's been mandated for a while. I've gotten a few "looks" that I just ignore. I've had people pull theirs off when they see that I don't have one. Only once I had a "Karen" walk up to me in Walmart and say, very snotty-like, "OUR MAYOR says you have to wear a mask!" I told her "OUR MAYOR can go 'f' herself!". I thought "Karen" was going to have a stroke..
I set out to do good, but now I aim to misbehave.
My sister lives in a small town in central Texas. Went there from Houston for Easter. Not many people wearing masks. It was so liberating. Around Houston you states and usually Management comes up to you and suggest a mask. I think when this is gone lots of people will continue to wear masks.
I'm there with you Fren! Never been asked to put it on. I have been offered them and said, "No thank you. Have a great day!" They just return the greeting. Also noticed people watching me with amusement/wonderment. Been Thanked for being brave.
