For nearly a year now on our dog walks we've been ripping Utah communist party posters off of public utility poles.
There was not one single GOP candidate for the last Salt Lake City mayoral race. Listening to the remaining candidates debate was like listening to the bolsheviks and the mensheviks having a discussion.
The SLC mayor is a Gender Studies graduate.
The runner up (and my state senate rep) wants a green new deal for Utah.
It’s horrible. If you walk downtown SLC there’s communist propaganda billboards everywhere (sponsored by the city mind you)
Homelessness is out of control,( after a 2 years reprieve) yet our lovely mayor just announced they are installing WiFi enabled benches in the city parks.
Crime is on the rise. Car break ins are rampant. Mine broken into twice in a week, reported to police, they could give a shit. Similar stories from neighbors
SLC has always had a more fringe liberal mayor; Rocky Anderson comes to mind, but this Erin bitch is something else
Glad to have you here. It is a very tough spot to be in. I was in a neighborhood with about a 40/60 - 50/50 split politically close to the brickyard area. Almost all my neighbors were great & some were of Polish descent (older generation) that would rail against the NAZI tactics they saw coming out 8 years ago.
I should preface most that moved from CA to UT (round 1) brougt many good family focused conservatives from the fires almost 20 year ago) into my neighborhood (almost tripled the population in about 5 years of growth in that area).
I don't buy that all move in are libs. Though I noticed every time a neighbor moved out of the SL area & a California family moved into the neighborhood, they almost always had a leftists/socialist desiring mindset. I just didn't understand it & have wondered if it is simply because Salt Lake has the reputation of being "more accepting" or "more like Portland" than elsewhere in UT, so the leftist (not classical liberals) minded former CA residents head closer that direction.
Just an idea, but it was weird as a most of the new move ins from CA to this part of Utah County lean between conservative to very conservative & most are anti Romney LoL.
