It's about who you trust. Like most everyone on this forum, I trust myself. I don't inherently trust anyone else - they have to earn my trust. I will fact check you until I deem you reliable.
Most people believe what they are told, even more so if it comes from an "authority". Some of my most heated Covid debates have been with a medical doctor friend who has completely bought the narrative and is terrified any unmasked interaction will result in immediate death. Infuriating - lots of "educated idiots" out there.
Having dropped out of a PhD because I felt like I was being molded into an unthinking, unfeeling drone, I maintain that there are many "schooled idiots" out there. They can jump through hoops when asked, but they can't think their way out of a poop bag.
Education broadens our horizons and expands our creative power.
Schooling indoctrinates us, limits our imagination and teaches us to obey.

We exist in a time with everyone in the world Googling for information and clicking the top answers.
This was easily manipulable by big tech.
