To supersede the filibuster, you need 60 votes in the senate, and that is simply not happening.
That is also why their attempt to remove the filibuster will not happen. They will filibuster the bill to remove the filibuster.

How is this possible? Doesn't statehood require 2/3 vote in both houses? Dems only have a 2 vote margin ATM.

I believe, according to the US Constitution, it would require a 3/5's vote in the Senate, something that cannot happen under the current makeup.
You would think that states themselves would have to approve any new member states to their union of the United States of America. We have to have constitutional conventions or 2/3 majority of the House to propose Amendments to the Constitution. And we need 3/4 of the states to approve them, or 38 of the 50 states.
Diluting our constitution by adding states willy-nilly seams counter to our Founding Documents.
Will there ever come a point where We The People actually say, "Enough! We are taking it all back. You work for us and as a famous man once said, You're FIRED."
We are getting closer and closer to just throwing everything out and starting with a whole new constitution. We've done well for 245 years, but here is a reminder of our founding principles.

So, I've been doing some research on this and there seems to be several steps. First, the US has to have "control" over the "territory" which we've had all along. Then, the "territory" must "request" admission into the US. My understanding is that "statehood" is put up for a vote to the residents. I'm not aware of any of that but I didn't dig too deep. Then the territory must write their own constitution. Again, I'm not aware of one. Then both houses vote on it and it needs 2/3 majority for it to pass.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. Again, I didn't did too deep.
I thought it requires a 2/3 vote, and the Dims only have a small majority in the House...

Edit: I looked up the sauce myself. Apparently a simple majority is sufficient in the house, but 60 votes are needed in the Senate. The House vote was 208 to 216 along party lines.
If the Act of 1871 is dissolved and we have the original Constitution, then D.C. will no longer be an Inc. and lose its power. Panic makes people do stupid things and this will bite them in the end.
