What has been bothering me about the A. Babbitt story is how a veteran like this was memory holed instantly and the presence at her "funeral" or "wake" was tiny and many weeks later with family and friends.
My senses tell me this entire story is fake with her being shot.
I'm not sure if by "watched the video" you're talking about the real-time clip, or that video that breaks it down literally second by second, and keeps tabs on the various people in the room. I'm honestly about 50/50 after seeing that; it does a pretty good job at making you think it may have been a staged act.
It's everyone else's reactions that made me not buy it, if a gun goes off in a narrow place like that everyone's going to be flinching and getting away from there as quick as possible, it's human nature. Noone seems too phased and actually keep approaching the scene
Agreed, even in a commotion like that, a pistol caliber round (that isn't .22lr) is going to leave anyones ears ringing if they were within 10-20ft without ear protection (which no one would have had in thai situation, ofc.) Especially in an enclosed space like that (indoor ranges are loud as hell, even the pistol ranges.)
I had to watch it many many times and even still I'm just not rendering any conclusions and just waiting to see what comes out further while other happenings....well, happen.
People here are awesome and make the best online community I've ever been a part of, but they seem to forget that there's the option to not have to judge an event (I'd say it's more prudent not to) until there is enough information/data available. This could take time in some cases like this one. Anyway keep on searching and asking questions like this, GA gets new users every day and many will benefit from well-sourced, albeit rehashed info.

Yes a gun shot going off that close in proximity and no one flinches. BS.
