Sometimes getting people to observe the insanity or evil, then ask themselves the question and stew on it for a bit is more productive than actively trying to bring them any awareness from your own knowledge bank. Of course, you can always encourage by chiming in... "I know, that is weird, right? Wouldn't assuming minorities are vote-suppressed by mandating ID be a form of racism? It seems like they assume minorities can't get ID. Very weird!"
When trying to wake someone up, Ive found it helpful to avoid spouting facts at them instead framing everything in questions and end with something like -- wow thats weird isnt it, or man thats quite a coincidence.
