I can only share with what I have heard firsthand from one of the employees. They told me that Dewine sent in his cronies to threaten and intimidate this owner with loss of liquor license if she didn't follow the mandates. Apparently they were relentless.
This happened about 5 times and each time the owner refused to comply. I don't know at what point she hired an attorney, but I imagine it went through the legal process until Dewine dropped the case.
I thought the same thing ..I’m grateful and thank God we are now seeing this ,but, I too wish more tried last year ..however look at what they did to people , biz owners who tried to stay open etc . However, this won’t end they will be back so at-least people are waking up and we will have a bigger resistance the next time they come with their chains! . I stayed maskless in San Diego since the very beginning , I wore a badge saying medical exempt since April 2000 About 6 months into this crime on humanity some places tried to get clever by telling me medical exempt needed to wear the face shield because it wasn’t covering mouth and you can still breath , Cosco, I left and haven’t been back , but all other places allowed me in , shamelessly I did have to pretend I couldn’t speak at times, Trader Joe’s, to stop any dialog concerning whether or not the medical exempt was allowed! I made many people the same medical exempt card I carried , loud mouth if you will Trump fans , but I never saw them wearing it and called them on it every time! I’m still a bit shocked shaken and beyond pissed that this happened to us. Although I’m shocked that it took a long time for most to get a clue , I am grateful ! It’s pretty concerning to me that the majority of Americans willingly walked into the camps if you will, this frightens the Fk out of me !

I'm not the restaurant owner, I don't have an answer. I was told this restaurant NEVER complied during this whole Scamdemic. No masks on employees since day one. No masks or social distancing had been followed there. I don't know how long her legal issues were, when they started or when they ended. I didn't even know this restaurant bucked Dewine's orders until about a month ago. Myself personally, I just didn't go to restaurants much because I hate the Twilight Zone. I visited a few I knew that didn't care about the stupid face diapers.
I posted this message in hopes of other people educating themselves about State Laws against this tyranny and maybe others will follow suit. I posted this because it's important to share good news happenings. I know times are really dark, shit is BAD.

I'm SO GLAD things are finally happening (lawsuits and legal action), I'm just genuinely surprised it's taken so damn long for people to finally figure out that we are being played. I do not know if there is a state law in NY that is similar to Ohio's. What happened at this particular restaurant is that the owner refused to comply and even after several bullying attempts by Dewine's "enforcement" arm, she kept fighting. I was told by one of the employees that the lawsuit eventually was dropped by Dewine's side because this would have set precedent for other area restaurants.
Employees there are all maskless. The owner never backed down and is now running with Joe Blystone as Lt. Governor.
