I'm an atheist, and I have absolutely zero interest in converting anyone to atheism. The same goes for christians, they should quit trying to convert people, and let them be free to be who they want(without harm to others). Freedom of choice for all.
Many atheists are worse than the most extreme religious zealots: they claim to definitively know it all and have nothing left to learn about the mysteries of reality the unexplored universe. They effectively worship themselves as being all knowing and infallible... whereas most Christians admit that their belief is based on faith.
Well, don't come to Australia then, because the majority are non believers. Only 7% of us go to church, and yet we have a low crime rate and a better standard of living per capita than the US. We non believers must be doing something right, how could that possibly be, without your god helping us out.
It's because the Australian culture is based on traditional Christian values rather than moral relativism which leads to Drag Queen Story Time.
I don't mean to be confrontational, however Australia is standing on the shoulders of the gains from over 2000 years of Christian teachings which raised the white race to reshape every nation on Earth.
This is why globalists use degeneracy as a weapon against Christian nations: because they know that Jesus makes us strong.
It's not a coincidence that Christians have reshaped the world with their gifts of freedom, science, art, philosophy and spirituality.
Consider our Constitution: the second greatest document created in human history and inspired by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ to respect our God given rights.
I am a former atheist, and I'm not sure what I am now. This resulted from being unable to effectively find 'the first cause' of anything. But like you, I never tried to convert anyone...basically because I don't know shit, and I'm not afraid to admit it.
Live life happily as best you can because it's the only one you have. That's my mantra in life, be kind to others and make the best with what you've got. Don't sell yourself short, you know more than you think you do, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
I have no desire to "convert" you. I just speak the Truth no matter who I am speaking to. I cannot force anyone to have faith or believe and I wouldn't want to.
I think Christian's should use new tactics. Trying to preach to someone who believes there is no God and has obviously heard about Jesus will do nothing. Instead, they should be a great friend to someone like yourself with no pressure or expectation. If they truly walk with God, it will be evident in their life and you will want to know how to get the fulfillment they've got.
Agreed. I didn't mean the gospel shouldn't be preached, just that most people in the US have at least heard of Jesus and made a decision one way or another. You can see someone's eyes glaze over if you start preaching at them. I'm saying we need to shine and make them wonder what we've got, then we share the gospel in an atmosphere where it can be recieved. :)
I'm currently in the process of leading my neighbor to the lord. He hates the idea of Jesus. We are good friends and he sees similar situations in our lives, but how differently they go for each of us. I keep giving him biblical advice on how to handle situations and he sees how they work in the real world. I didn't push Jesus on him. I loved him like Jesus would and let Jesus pursue him. It's the most positive results I've ever had sharing the gospel with someone, and I know if I had preached at him from the start, we wouldn't even be talking now.
No one is forcing Christianity on you or anyone else. This is a free country and you can choose the out come of your soul, it's called free will, God gave everyone of us that choice.
No offense, but the way people down-vote outspoken atheists on this board proves that is a half truth. They can't force us to believe so they attack us in whatever tiny way they can because we dare to not conform. Even though what we say is often true.
I bet this comment gets tons of down votes if anyone sees it. Which will just prove my point.
Strangely, when I was an atheist I never had the urge to debate a Wiccan, satanist, agnostic... only Christians. I had many opportunities, as I knew people who were all those things.
It is a very important part of Christianity to spread the faith and try to convert people. This is because converting another person to Christianity is saving a life forever, so the main goal for Christians is to spread the Bible and try to convert people. Yes people can choose, but Christians should try to earnestly convince all of humanity that Jesus Christ is Lord.
The reason Christians try to convert people is so they can prevent them going to hell and being eternally damned. If somehow you thought your atheism would prevent others from having a terrible fate, wouldn't you try to convert them? We would have no compassion for our fellow people if we didn't try to save their souls.
That is only your opinion. When I am dead, I will be just dead. What if I believed that when you die, you'll spend an eternity at Walmart(hell), will you have the same belief? no you won't. Therefore your comment is just an opinion(not based on FACT), as is mine.
Just view all religions for what they really are... social viruses. What makes a virus successful? It spreads itself effectively. If they didn't have an effective method of spreading the virus built in you would have never heard of it. It would be some funny quirky thing 50 people in a backwater town in Alabama do on Saturdays.
Look at Islam. As a religion its pretty messed up, but the one thing it got right is an effective method of spreading itself. They go to the next town over kill half the people and tell the other half to covert or die with their friends and family. A few generations later no one even knows what religion they used to be. Talking about it would get you killed thus its been memory-holed.
The only reason Christianity is so well known is that its members have a duty to spread the word. Throw in a few devout Kings that conquered other areas and spread the word and... poof lots of Christians.
Same with Marxist Atheists. Its a theocracy. They really aren't atheists. They worship the state itself. Nothing and no one can be held above the state, not even god. So they exterminate god using the power of their god... the state. They ban it. They kill its believers, etc. Thus Marxism is a VERY successful religion. Just like Islam it snuffs out other religions so only it exists.
Christianity over the centuries has mutated into something pretty tame as these things go. Which is exactly why its fading away. Other more aggressive viruses are slowly overtaking it. Which unfortunately means it will either get more aggressive or it will die out.

Worse than the saracens?

Im christian. I do not go to Church.
Keep importing the Chinese. Good luck.
You have a Chinese President.
And you are very quickly losing your freedoms there.
I couldn't be more free. My life is not restrained by the laws of a mythical being.
Sorry dude, but God sent us to spread the good news.

That's exactly what I have always said. Be an example of what Jesus would do. If you live like that, others notice.

We are commanded to spread the Gospel. So no, we won’t stop preaching.
There is no freedom of choice without informed decisions.
Seeing as people are born atheists and will die atheists without attaining knowledge, I can see why an atheist would want ignorance to prevail.
Keep searching youll find it. God bless
I couldn't ask for a better life than the one I have now. Life is good.

Its all just social viruses.
Luciferians in control of the ENTIRE earth mock you. Just saying.
