Not in my experience, no. The AP and Reuters host news feeds, from which all or almost all of mainstream media sources get their news. Ever wonder why seemingly unrelated channels use the exact same wording for the exact same story? This is why.
I've added a few to that list from someone else's recommendations, and have found a few more which haven't been added yet, but yeah, it's a good place to jump off.
You should probably vet them for yourself, see what the headlines and articles are like, to find ones which are more neutral and factual (less right-wing bias). If you send your father some biased sources, that might turn him off.
Epoch Times is solid. They have a policy for their journalists about having to verify everything they write (unlike the typical MSM outlet). The only downside is if your father isn't too interested in the CCP, he'll be getting a healthy dose about what they're up to.
Vouch for The Epoch Times. Joshua Phillips was doing live streams every night and answering questions for a while. And they aren’t afraid to talk about the fraud

Citizen Free Press, OAN, Whatfinger, and watch Bannon Warroom Pandemic for real updates about the audits. He may not be ready for Majik eyes qnly or X22 and the like
I like Epoch Times - also subscribe to their weekly printed edition - old fashioned newspaper with sections. News, Living, Opinion, Health and Wellness. Even crosswordand funnies. The news reported is sourced and recaps the week nicely. Great Sunday morning read and then I pass it along to others.
