America is definitely beautiful and I can't recommend it enough to make a cross country drive for anyone! Driving from California to DC along the southern and central routes was awesome to see! SO many people from all walks of life.
If you're cutting through Texas, your GPS will tell you that the El Paso route is faster. Take the northern I-40 route. It's far more interesting of a drive than desert.
I headed East through New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas.
I returned West through Ohio, Nebraska, Colorado.
And it's the unexpected breaks that you take that make a difference in a trip. Many hidden gems all over the US. And take your time on the trip. I did the round-trip in 11 days.
1 day to New Mexico.
1 day to Texas.
2 days staying in Texas.
1 day to Kentucky.
1 day to DC.
2 days staying in DC.
1 day to Illinois.
1 day to Colorado.
1 day back to California.
You are so right. Corrupt persons are far out-numbered by truly patriotic, generous and loving Americans. Oh, and yes, aren't lightning bugs the most special. I've never forgotten my first evening in Indiana with them everywhere. Heavenly, magical.
Aside from the Smokies, if you can find reputable moonshine, this onetime tourist from California remembers that TN is hard to beat! Cool as fresh water going in, but warm like a cozy campfire after it gets there. And ater a few sips I didn't need the subtitles anymore, when listening to locals.
Washington is geographically a top 3 beautiful state in my opinion. I have been to 34 states.
It’s such a shame that white liberals are destroying this state. The whole state is beautiful. I wish I could send every tech worker to fucking North Korea. They are ruining EVERYTHING.
You just cheered me up a lot with your comment. There's not enough gritty British humor around me right now and you just reminded me of it's existence. I'll seek it out!

As someone who’s about to do this with a few people for he first time, any tips or things to know? Going from the east coast to west, and back
You can save time on road trips by peeing in milk jugs.

Agree with this sentiment.
Go to any of our national parks. Truly the best open land on Earth.
I like my Canada. :P
Man, God help your cucked ass country. America is struggling as well but fuck, I can't go anywhere without my gun.
Come over to the West Coast -- we got sunshine, tacos, weed, smugness, and pockets of eccentricity for any demographic.

Seattle is a fucking shit hole now
Since I have been learning about the US, its founding principles and its citizens, I'd really love to visit, particularly the flyover states.
The people I talk to here on GA make a really good impression on me.
I had the idea before, probably from the media, that Americans were mostly shallow and unsophisticated. Sorry about that. I was totally wrong!
Oh I would love to do that.

Thank you!
You've never been to Switzerland.
I enjoyed my time in pretty much every Southern state I visited on my road trip years ago.
I would love to do it again some day.
