Did you just call me old?
Us my friend .. Us
Now I feel better, I'm not the only one.
Drank water out of the water hose (and learned to let it run for a second first! Ouch!!) because we couldn't go back inside until dinner time! Good Memories - and we are still alive to talk about them!
I have laid on my back on the ground and watched clouds sail by.
I have recited the Pledge of Allegiance and the Lord's Prayer in school.
I have drunk from the water hose.
I have started fires with a magnifying glass.
I have climbed trees and jumped out.
I have ridden in a station wagon with no seat belts.
I have climbed on the monkey bars at school.
I still look at clouds, smell the flowers, and watch the birds.
Big Wheels rocked. Flashlight tag. Jumping Stingray bikes on brik n board jumps...no helmets. Pre-BMX. We built bikes. Fishing, tree forts. Neighborhood sports. It was natural & taught us to survive.
We can thank Walmart for that. I remember the first one opening in my town when I was about nine. Ben Franklin's and Woolworth's weren't long for the world after that.
Same here.
People are so caught up in seeing their own image. I remember when taking a selfie with your camera was the height of arrogance. We all did it but never showed it to anyone.
I am so old I remember writing journal entries (I'm an accountant) in large binders with green ledger paper and narrow columns. My first boss chose me because I had great small handwriting.
I also have been a whole day not obsessing over myself and my issues. What a shock.
What's a selfie?!?!?!?
Is that something you do to yourself in the privacy of being under the covers?
With a sock, I heard.
I'm only in my late 20s and I am proud to say I have done all the above.
And the world was a better place then too
Selfie=self love, it’s all about me, part of the problem with the world.
Real men don't take selfies.
Time has changed sir. Nowadays everything can be done on a smart phone and smart phone is one of the most innovative and important technology ever invented. For the younger generation especially.
I work on my phone, watch Tv, pay the bills, did my college homework, taking full credit courses, buy a house, contact clients, negotiate deals, buy stocks, sell stocks, make money, record video, make videos, take photos (both everyday and professional photos can be taken on the latest smartphone), and write a novel right on my phone without using my computer. Technology has been improved so fast that the tech knowledge I got in college has become obsolete. I’m a 28 year old millennial and I graduated just... 4 years ago ?
The younger generation who is born in 2000 (gen z) is even more tech savvy than us (millennials). Companies owned by boomers generation are having trouble keeping up with the fast change. All the three companies I worked for all filed for bankruptcy and one completely went out of business. It’s just too expensive to run a brick and mortar facility when the young employees can just be more proficient and take less time when working at home, in their pj, on bed.
...that’s uncalled for. What did I say? ?
Edit: I’m scared of downvote ?????? Psst
Actually sir boomer you replied to my post and this is an American website, I can say whatever I want as long as I’m being respectful. And I don’t see myself going over the line in my posts, unlike you. You cussed me out twice now. You have issues with millennials? Please. These corrupt politicians and cabals are from YOUR generation.
Edit: oh you edited your post, hah, you make a lot of assumptions. Maybe it’s your useless loser children who pay $100 for a steak. I have a job, my own house, and I cook my own food. And I’m happy and not a bitter person like you.
I can’t have a conversation with you old folks. If I make an attempt to bond, sharing my perspective and story somehow it’s showing off. Good bye. I’ll avoid you and anyone with word old in their usedname like a plague.
