. Researchers found no 'viable' virus in the asymptomatic cases and the close contacts of these positive asymptomatic cases did not test positive. But these findings do not show that the virus can't be passed on by asymptomatic carriers. Rather, mask-wearing, hand washing, social distancing and lockdown have helped reduce Covid-19 virulence.

You can't prove a negative. That's the logic they're using which allows that word salad to be technically correct.

It isn't technically correct IMHO, it's meaningless unprovable gobbledygook.

And I know it's common to say that you can't prove a negative but that's not accurate in my experience. It's easy to prove, for example, the absolute absence of antelopes (or any other non-human mammals, for that matter) in my office. Examples of proving a negative are literally innumerable.
