The wife and I live in a semi-suburban area in a southern town, but we have lots of woods to the north or our house. Last night, July 4, we were treated to a fireworks display we haven't seen in quite a long time. Two churches to our south and east of us were holding Independence Day outdoor services that ended with competing professional fireworks displays... and neighbors al around us and across a valley to the north had invested heavily in some spectacular fireworks.
It all ended around 11pm; but we were both struck by the enthusiasm and overtly patriotic displays. At times it seemed like all the pent-up frustration of last year's lockdowns were coming out. It was something to behold.
So, with the smell of gunpowder in the air, at least around here, it seems that Patriotism is once again fashionable... or something.
Anyone else experience that last night?
I sure did. I live in the country and no matter which direction I looked, huge fireworks were going off. Also all the churches in my city had US flags lining their parking lots and driveways. It was very patriotic. Also, going into town on Saturday, we saw lots of people in mostly trucks with their US and Trump flags flying. It was beautiful. You can tell the American people are fed up and standing up for what they believe in. God bless America and God heal our World.
God bless America and God heal our World.
My nightly prayer.
Congratulations and thank you. That is my prayer too.
I'm in the woods in North Carolina and I heard gunshots and fireworks for about 8 hours straight couldn't be prouder.
My nephew said that he was going to use the fireworks to zero in his AR15.
There are some Chicago neighborhoods that are more enthusiastic than others on the 4th. This year my neighborhood sounded like a warzone. I can say after living here for over 20 years this is by far the loudest and brightest it has ever been. Maybe Chicago isn't completely lost...
I live in Chicago too and saw a pickup with a HUGE American Flag that was secured to the truck hitch in Chicago proper. Went to near IL WI border to watch fireworks Red White and Blue everywhere including the little kids. Came home and at midnight still booms all around. It was a really nice night.
Our local fireworks were displayed on the 3rd and have been the talk of the community ever since. Local message boards/newspaper/coffee shops etc. It was the most patriotic show ever and lasted far longer than any year prior. All of the sinc'd music was amazing and HUGE crowds attended. Last night our community skies glowed with family fireworks going off everywhere. We are entertaining a Colorado guest who was blown out of the water by it all. Frankly - I have never seen anything like it...and I'm no spring chicken.
Your Colorado guest would have been pleasantly surprised if they’d been at home. Our neighborhood in Colorado had amazing family firework shows going off all night. My parents are actually visiting from the south and my Dad said it was the best firework show he’d ever seen. Sounds like the entire country brought out their patriotism in full force last night, blue and red alike, and that makes me so happy! ☺️??
I have never heard or seen anything like it in my 60+ years. At least 4 hours of non stop booms. Someone 2 streets away blew off $5,000 of them. He had a before pic with a mountain of them before the celebration. A guy down the street had probably the same amount. It was continuous booms. I went on our neighborhood page expecting the usual bitching and was amazed to see not a single complaint.
The entire city of Vegas went from 8 to midnight. I sit up high o. The north of the valley, the show was spectacular. I take it as a statement from latrines that they're done with the deepnstate Nd this Democrat run lie.
Sorry.
My cousin usually pulls off an hour long fireworks display each year, and told me that there was a fireworks shortage in his town because so many people had bought the stores out of their stock.
Heck yeah. Here in rural area of Central Florida. We had fireworks going off for hours last night. Not only that but people actually started on the 1st. It has been going on for 4 days here. Exuberant patriotism!!
2pm here is when they finally stopped firing told the wife this is just a portion of the booms that where heard during them long nights of war when brave men stood to free our country
Small town Wisconsin here. Fireworks in every direction around the lake and neighborhood. Even the neighborhood Karen by me was lighting off fireworks (she historically calls the cops if a dog so much as farts near her property). This year was a lot of people showing their patriotism and celebrating. Not a single siren heard with the 1000s of pounds of ordinace being blasted into the sky. It was a beautiful day ??????
Same here on the south east coast of FL!
I couldn't see them... I live in the country but the whole area was booming last night from the sounds of freedom.
We live in the flatlands and could see fireworks in every direction. It was the most amazing I'd ever seen. Patriots were giving our 4th of July signal that we are here and we are ready.
Same, we had a 360 degree view of some spectacular firework shows in our neighborhood. It was sometimes hard to choose which way to look. I also live in what seems like a more liberal area of the state, definitely more liberal than the south, but patriotism seemed to be in high gear last night. We also had several immigrant families (legal) getting into the spirit and that was great to see as well!
I was treated to fireworks and firecracker and booms from 8:45 PM to about 1:30 AM. It just wouldn't stop. And supposedly there is more tonight. I don't get the connection to independence, beyond a nice little display for about twenty minutes. Five hours of it?? Too much.
"The rockets red glare, bombs bursting in air..." There IS a precedence for that. Independence is no small 20-minute affair, it's an enduring characteristic of a free people.
The display in SE TN was so incredible. Right on lake, probably 4 or 5 locations in hills & around lake were lit up for around 2 hours!!! Longest show I’ve ever seen ??? That doesn’t count most of the afternoon random explosions, gunfire etc.
