I try to buy Made in the USA, where and when I can however, we bought a small wooden dog gate a couple months ago and when it arrived, I had a little cheer that it was Made in Japan. I guess ANYTHING but China is good with me. lol
Taiwan = ROC/Republic of China = Nationalist China = Free China
(+ also in Portuguese voyages era, aptly named 'Formosa' ~ 'Beautiful Island')
.
Like Russia, they won their freedom via a 1st revolution, well before the Red Chinese communist/globalists swarmed through the land with their 2nd (so-called) 'peoples' revolution.
Contrast 'the peoples' Red China, with Sun Yat-Sen's 'Three Principles of the People'. They're often summarized as nationalism, democracy, and the livelihood of the people / (wellbeing/thriving, toward 'the pursuit of happiness')
So basically ....... a lot like MAGA:
.
Mínzú > Civic Nationalism
"Populism" or "rule/government of the People", "Mínzú/People" clearly describing a nation ... By this, Sun meant independence from imperialist domination or oppression...
Mínquán > Governance Rights
... usually translated as "democracy"; literally "the People's power" or "government by the People." To Sun, it represented a Western constitutional government.
Mínshēng > "the People's welfare/livelihood, (flourishing / wellbeing / prosperity).
..."Government FOR the People" (people-friendly policy) ... understood as social welfare and a direct criticism of the inadequacies of unregulated capitalism / fascist corporatism ... Chiang Kai-shek further elaborated ... both the importance of social well-being and recreation...'

So to honor our shared ideals and ROC's luminous National Anthem:
Once I was awoken to what the CCP really was and what they are planning, I have started looking at where stuff is made. It is truly remarkable that we are in an economic war with a country but our big retailers are full of product made in China. We are financing our own demise. Ludicrous.
I just bought a new runner for the floor in front of my kitchen sink. Ironically, it has a very Oriental Rug 'look' but it was made in Turkey!! yuck! but better than China.
It's like, "Oh, this is made in real China, neat!"
PS: Until well after high school I never knew that we were allies with China in WWII (The pre-communist government that's still there in Taiwan). Why was I not taught this?
I have a large set of Made in Taiwan flat ware ,the handles of which are carved wood. Very nice...............so much better than the stainless steel made in china stuff . [ an excellent idea for the "chip shortage" is obviously to get them from Taiwan.... this is the excuse for halting/slowing auto manufacture]
That was back toward 1970. I don't think he had anything to do with the horrors the evil people have done. Remember he was tried in he media just like Reagan and DJT. His frien d JFK was assasinated> He had to have this on his mind. And the tapes? Ha ha ha would have done the same thing. What some people chose to do otherwise was unfortunate for him. Yes he made peace with a dangerous red china. Made treaties with an even more dangerous USSR and stopped thevietnam war. Also He helped save Israel at Golda Meier's personal request.
At this point, I'm all for buying ABC; anywhere but Chy-na
This is the way.
Literally what I'm actively doing. Avoiding Chyna at all costs.

San Min, Juyi / Our aim shall be
To build a free land / World peace be our stand
Lead on comrades / Vanguards ye are
Hold fast your aim / By sun and star
Be earnest and brave / Your country to save
One heart, one soul / One mind, one goal

Yes I recall as a kid seeing Taiwan on clothes tags.
I just bought a new runner for the floor in front of my kitchen sink. Ironically, it has a very Oriental Rug 'look' but it was made in Turkey!! yuck! but better than China.
I have ZERO issues buying anything made in Taiwan or Hong Kong. I try my hardest to never buy anything made in China but it’s very difficult.
