That's a statement made through the Awakening that's like a site one cannot unsee.
I often struggle with the statement make through these channels that anyone who made it big in Hollywood, participated in, knew about, or was somehow silently acquiesced in the abuses of Hollywood, the abuse of children.
I simply can't believe that someone like John Wayne, a Clint Eastwood, a Fess Parker, Jimmy Stewart would have ever been complicit or silent in the abuse of Children. Being complicit and turning a blind eye are two different things.
It could be that these honorable men, and many other were blinded by their own ambitions. It could be like many today that believe that such unspeakable sins can't possibly exit We should not condemn men whose lives seems to be honorable in every aspect, but that they were deceived by Hollywood.
I tend to agree. I imagine that there was a time when the cabal had only a portion of the pie, and that it grew over time, gradually locking the good people out. Perhaps we'll get to find out, although I'm not certain that I want to know all.
Last night, I was watching Old Yeller, and the moral messages such as Fess, on his return home from the cattle drive, delivered to his son, were not fake messages, or messages designed to skew our sense of what what being a man was. It was a real messages of manliness that we young boys could apply in our on lives.
Where Old Yeller get the rabies, and has to be put down for example. The mother, returning with the rifle tells Travis that there is no hope for Old Yeller, that he is suffering, and they have to put him down. Travis says, "I know mama, but he was my dog, and I have to do it". Here
This actually happened to me. Except my big yeller dog was poisoned, and was having continuous bad seizures. I took him to the vet, bought him home, and he only got worse. I told my son to go and get my gun, that we need to end his suffering. When my son returned with my pistol, he said he would do it. I told him, "Nope, he was my dog, and I would do it myself, that I owed him that for the loyalty and love he gave to me."
When I was young, my teacher read Old Yeller to us in school, and I remembered that part from the story. It may sound corny to emulate what was in a fiction story, but what happened in this old tale was the real, and the honorable thing to do.
When the father, played by Fess returns, he ask where Travis is, and Travis's mother tell him that he is up on the North hill burying Old Yeller, and then is told the story, he goes up to where Travis is, and the talk he has with Travis is a good, truthful, message that a boy on his was to becoming a man, can apply to his own life.
Disclamer: I know this was a Disney movie, and I know all the supposed bad stuff about Walt Disney, but I question some of the things said about him. A bad tree cannot bare good fruit. But the early Disney movies had some good moral messages.
Good story; thanks for sharing. Even today there are many good people who want to make film, and are skilled at it. They just have a harder path. I think it must have been harder always to produce a godly message, and yet I think it happened more frequently in past generations.
The gatekeepers in Hollywood want let any quality movies get produced.
I know some people don't like Neon Revolt, and I haven't followed him for a long time because of what he was doing over on Voat, but he still did a great dig on the gatekeepers back in this 2018 dig.
