Anyone remember a 1960s sci-fi film called "The Time Machine"? Rod Taylor and Yvette Mimeux... she was an Eloi, a beautiful but stupid race raised to be food for the evil Morlocks underground. In one scene an Eloi girl falls into the river and is being swept away and no one helps her, they just sit there watching her drown, and the Rod Taylor character (a visitor from Victorian England) jumps in to save her.
That's what I'm reminded of seeing all these people watching other folks being swept away, not lifting a finger to help, but by GOD they sure do have time to get a video of it on their phones!
WTF is wrong with these people?
I remember that movie very well . It has reminded me of the last 2 generations for some time now
Preach it, bruh.
This is awful.
Yes it is. IT is nearly 5 AM in China at the moment, so there will prolly be more social media news soon.
Live coverage right now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BPxZlHRreI
Not sure why there are downdoots here? Someone disagreeing with me?
This video is labeled "Disaster Compilations." Get out of here with this bs.
??? It is a compilation from people's social media posts, sure. Information from China is very hard to come by, from official sources, because they have a Bidenesque approach: basically all lies.
hmm I apologize. I misunderstood.
Bayan Har dam broke, and that's upstream on the yellow river. The flooding is in Zhengzhou, which is downstream. Just now, Steve claimed that it was not connected, because the dam was in Mongolia. LOL At least this channel mentions it: https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/asia/chinese-army-warns-dam-battered-by-storms-could-collapse-15257186
There has been massive rainfall and flooding along the Yellow River in Zhengzhou.
However, a dam breaking at Bayan Har, which is nearly 1,000 miles upstream from Zhengzhou, would take the water about 3 days to arrive.
The dam failure is likely from the same heavy rains, and a dam failure certainly doesn't help... but if it only collapsed today, then the water from that dam failure will likely cause additional flooding in Zhengzhou a few days later.
It did not collapse today, it was a couple or three days ago.
OK. That makes sense then.
