I read his whole abstract before, true he does say bacterial pneumonia was the cause in 1918. But in the original report he states bacterial pneumonia on top of Spanish flu virus (what we used to call double pneumonia). I see no where in either report a reference to masks however other doctors have done studies showing how masks promote bacterial pneumonia.
Although, simple logic should lead you to the conclusion absent of a study. The more you wear a mask, the more bacteria is collected. The more you breathe into the mask, the warmer and more moist it gets. There is really nothing left to the imagination as to whether or not the perfect environment for bacteria to grow would, in fact, contain a relatively high count of said bacteria.
Its because of your title I got the impression you meant the connection between bacteria and the mask per Fauci's abstract since bacteria collects in the mask. I apologize. I worked in research in a huge university medical center so I am quite aware of the process. As a matter of fact I used to submit Human Use Protocols to the NIH and on completion of the study submitted for publication in the medical journals.
Fauci's 2006 article on the Spanish Flu deaths being predominantly due to bacterial pneumonia:

I would add this ^ comment somewhere in the graphic if possible.
I know it takes a lot of work to create a graphic, so thank you!

Way to go Fren!
Thanks again!
Awesome job on the graphic, we'll done!
Good stuff. Sometimes slow learners need pictures.
Just stick a mask over your exhaust pipe and notice how well your car runs.

He refers to prophylactics as being the cause which a mask would be considered.
I never suggested Fauci talked about masks (though they were used during the Spanish Flu, we have pictures).
If you really need a study to prove bacteria and masks go together like ham and eggs, this one should suffice:

Thank you for your clarification.
