Its hard to understand what's really happening with tech because we are linear creatures that exist in a linear world where things progress in order 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
Tech however does not follow this rule, it progresses exponentially, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32.
The first computer was designed pencil on paper, the second computer was designed using the computer. This sort of stuff is the driving factor behind such a trend.
Soon the price performance of solar will usurp all other forms of energy, soon after that we will forget energy was ever something scarce or that needed to be purchased at all.
Then theres robotics and 3d printing to get you that new AR-9000 you wanted and keep you stocked on ammo for price of materials, which will also be dirt cheap because of the advanced robotics, AGI and near free energy running the excavation. Nanotech combined with gene therapy type stuff also enhanced by self improving AGi will make your garage the best hospital you could ever dream of. You will crush aging, mend bones, and fortify your very cells to make the repair tech you posses barely matter to you at all.
You will probably leave this planet, and take whatever space you need for your stability and security elsewhere. After all communications will be so good you wont miss anyone nor feel distant no matter how far you are away.
Government will become an obvious nuisance to everyone, not needed not wanted and no amount of tricks will convince us otherwise. After all self sufficient people already hate government, imagine how we will feel once we are all truly independent autonomous lifeforms.
Techy types like me couldn't keep our fucking mouths shut and we convinced the elites this was coming. We didn't understand them and thought this would be joyous news to everyone. We where dead wrong. The elites already HAVE all the material wealth and freedom they could want, what they value is CONTROL OVER YOU, and we walked right up and showed them that was about to dissapear.
That's why the elite started to panic this past 20-30 years, THATS why the pushed all their timelines forward and are trying to beat the clock. They can't imagine a world where you become equal to them, that is truly hell to them.

Smart thinking. Not so long ago, people used to talk about stuff like ‘the age of abundance’ and ‘the world’s first 200 year old has already been born’. This conjured up images of an altruistic future with limitless resources and of babies born today who will live healthier for longer due to tech advancements in food, medicine, organ transplants, environment etc, and that such wonderment would be afforded to everyone. How wrong we were. Gerontological tech is and will be preserved for the uber rich for as long as the world is still run by elite Dark Triads. For the awakening to be truly great, no less than unleashing the full and unlimited benefits of human ingenuity on all humans has to happen, which will require the complete removal of the psychopathic power grid.

Sorry its something I just made up on the fly while writing, the AR15 is the most popular weapon these days so I thought up a name of a futuristic version of that.
