I've been thinking about this lately. Right now many businesses are mandating a mask and/or vaccine for "our own good". Many of these businesses also have public restrooms. Why don't they put people at the door of these restrooms to mandate handwashing? That would actually contribute to reducing disease, unlike masks.
The answer, of course, is that it has never been about disease prevention; it's about control.
