Just not true. The only person you can control is yourself. Adults can make their own decisions but not when they haven't been taught to think for themselves and to evaluate evidence.
Of course. Parents often try to educate their children. But in a family where the head does not possess authority, the children cannot learn--except from the world around them.
Something will have authority over your children. It should be parents. Sadly, in many homes teachers, or friends, or even TikTok has the authority. The authority is the place from where children derive their "truth". They will always get their beliefs from some source. The fact that they learn falsehoods and travel down the wrong paths means they did not recognize the authority of the good parent. Which means the good parent did not have authority.
school days get longer and longer, they used to only sell lunch now they are giving away 3 squares a day... they've replaced the parents as the provider by ensnaring the one thing that binds us all biologically at a young age... someone provides you food they are your caregiver, you owe them, you respect them.
it's just like in brave new world, we're 30 years away (i'm being generous) of them wanting to control reproduction and warding children to the state at birth "for their protection and the good of society".
That's right. If children respect the authority of public school teachers and admire them more than they trust and admire their own parents, then children will go astray.
One ought not have authority over one's mother as one does over one's wife and children. Your job is to honor your mother, but she may make her own bad decisions without blame falling on you.
One whose wisdom is disrespected by his children is not an authority in their lives as he should be.
I don’t think that reasoning will fly before the Almighty on judgement day. Each of us, as adults, are responsible for our own decisions no matter what our parents did or didn’t teach us. Telling God that your parent’s lack of authority in your life is the reason for anything negative you might have done, or any sins you committed will, in fact, not be a “get into heaven free” excuse. You and realeagles comments reek of legalism and are all together ungracious, unloving, and not helpful. It’s just a thought, but y’all might want to check your logs before you start giving unChristlike comments about everyone else’s specks.
When you have no authority in your own family, they go their own way against wisdom.

As they are taught by their parents--that is the wisdom they will display.
Disagree doesn't always work that way.

Not anymore with the shit they are learning in schools.

It's your fault for having no authority
I'm a mod here and my mum got the vax. Facebook is a powerful, powerful thing
