I tell them I will make an informed choice when the trials are complete in 2023 to provide adequate risk information. So far has been successful in preventing any coherent rebuttals.

I watched a bunch of Leftist in real time have this conversation:
One announces, "I'm getting vaxxed new week! I'm so, SO excited."
Others, "Yay! Congratulations to you! I can't wait for my last shot!"
"It will be such a relief. Once I'm vaxxed I can't get COVID anymore!" the Lefty pauses, frowning as another thought occurs, "Of course, we still have to mask, social distance, and avoid touching because you can get variants."
Other Leftists, "That's true! You can still get Covid variants even if you get vaccinated."
Then a heavy silence as they realize what they just admitted.
The Lefty quickly says, "But... um... if you vaxx... you um... you won't die of Covid!"
"Right! That's true. You won't die of Covid if you get vaccinated. But we still have to mask and social distance to avoid getting it even if it won't kill us."
Another heavy pause as they realize what they just admitted. The hamster in their heads is running furiously to rationalize this.
Then the Lefty says, "Well, even if the variant can't kill us because we're vaxxed the unvaccinated can still die so we have to mask and social distance to prevent them getting sick."
Others, "That's true! We have to vax to protect the unvaxxed."
Then they mull over this and conclude the unvaxxed are selfish for not vaccinating, following rules on masking or social distance. When the conversation comes back they say:
"I really hate those people with vaccine hesitancy. I am sick of having to wear a mask because they're too stupid to get vaccinated. I wish they would catch the variant and die of covid!"
Another pause as they realized what they admitted.
I can't say it was the most insane conversation I've ever heard, but it's up there.
sounds about right for a leftist. Funny thing though, those of us unvaxxed dont want masking or social distancing and are ok with taking risks to live a natural life.
There must have been a moderate in the mix. A true leftist would never say, "That's true! We have to vax to protect the unvaxxed," unless they modified it by saying, "You know, the immuno-compromised and the children who can't get vaccines."
It was online discussion so when I say "Others" I'm combining messages. I don't think there is a "true" leftists. There are the narcissists who quickly change their wording to take whatever will causes division. Many confuse those.
The "protect the unvaxxed" didn't last very long. He said that and they quickly agreed with whatever he said, then realized slowly what he said and didn't like that part. After that they guided him back to "unvaxxed are selfish".
It's more of a hive mind. One member of the hive says something that isn't in agreement with the hive thinking so they "agree" at first then coax him back to the correct thinking. It's subtle and unnoticed.
You see it all the time with them. If someone strongly rejects the hive-thinking he'll be pushed out, but if he said something by mistake that wasn't in agreement they'll agree at first and nudge him slowly back to what he should think.
Hive mind thinks: Coffee is racist.
Member of hive says, "We have to treat coffee the same as tea."
Hive mind goes, "That's true. You're right," then later comes back and gently says, "But tea and coffee aren't the same. Coffee is racist, you know."
Member falls in line and says, "Coffee is racist."
They only get harsh if you defy the Hive. If you just slipped up they'll guide you back slowly. You won't even notice.
So I'd say it wasn't the case of a moderate in the mix. It was more of he unknowingly said an idea that wasn't in line and they took their time to bring him back to the correct thinking."
This was a great articulation of exactly how this social control mechanism works. I wish more people had gotten the opportunity to read it.
Thinking the same thing. This is astute observation
I wouldn't classify that as a conversation. More like group maturation.
Can i borrow this? Thats great info. Proves they have no logic. Only justification for what they do or say.
Do you mean post somewhere else? If it's not on this forum just crop out my username and it's fine.
