That’s how crutches work you lean away from bad leg into good leg and the crutch. You are supposed to do the same thing with a cane. My poor 84 yr old grandma was using a cane wrong for months til I showed the right way. She couldn’t believe it - she was so happy it actually worked and now her back quit hurting! Took me a good 15 mins to convince her at 1st though. 🙄
I think it would depend on how painful the bad leg is. If it is excruciating, you wouldn't want to lean on it at all. If it were merely weaker, your theory might hold for some reason, but it still sounds wrong to me, who has had lots of pain in legs. Ouch!
nah if you’re putting all your weight on your good leg and the crutch as if they are your two main supports then your bad leg is off to the side getting the least amount of weight if you put the bad leg in the center you’re going to be fighting to not put weight on it, go try it yourself if you have a golf club or something lying around flip it over like a cane
Well it’s all based on physics and the body’s physiology. This is what is taught to PTs OTs and other medical staff, however whatever works for you, works for you. 😎
