Check this out: https://usafacts.org/visualizations/covid-vaccine-tracker-states/
This reports only 61% got one dose of the shot, and barely 50% are fully vaccinated. This number got updated 2 days ago and hasn't budged in weeks.
It's also considerably less than what some MSM outlets are reporting.
I'm pretty sure everyone who wants it has gotten it already.
I was just reading that there is a huge surge of people coming in to get vaccinated. Something like a million people were supposedly vaccinated yesterday alone.
Now I'm wondering if this is yet another lie, trying to get unvaccinated people to fall in with the herd, or if these people are actually scared of getting covid.
It's also interesting to note that almost all of this "surge of covid cases and deaths" are in the Deep South.
No offense to any southerners here, but the majority of them seem to be huge buckets of lard asses. I've had to travel down there for business quite a bit, and it’s shocking to see just how insanely fat the people are there. And their diets are horrible. And it seems like they all smoke.
It's not surprising then that so many are dying, I guess. If they are dying, because who the hell knows what is actually going on.
Again, no offense to any southerners here (who I'm sure are bright enougto know that being healthy is the best "medicine" for any disease).
Before your fat shaming gets the better of you, I’d like to publicly say this about the southern people, something you obviously can’t see because you’re an ass. The southern people I know are the sweetest, most generous humans out there. Most are beautiful inside and out! They are hard working and warm people. Talented in weighs you couldn’t imagine. Your sanctimonious attitude should be held in the upmost contempt by all that read your words. If you look anything like your words present I don’t know how you can look yourself in the mirror. Take your pretensions attitude aside and slap yourself before someone else does it for you!
Sorry not sorry - only a fat person would protest so much to someone stating the fact that people in the south are in reality, not just in theory, statistically of greater girth than the rest of us (maybe combined) lol.
Seriously, obesity is a huge factor in death both from the flu and from the ingredients in the toxic injection so not surprising that "vaxxed" in the south would succumb to illness sooner just based on that risk factor.
As a former fatty myself (well, more like chubby) I think most people could probably get fit with a little effort and determination, especially the ones who have presently sold themselves the lie that they're just "big boned." Someone else said it once so don't blame me pls for repeating..."I've never seen a picture of a fatty from Auschwitz."
I seem to have hit a nerve with you.
Sure, I completely agree that southerners are very nice people. Probably the nicest people in the country.
But it's just a fact that a large percentage of them are very obese. Anyone who lives in the south or ever been to the south knows this. The same with smoking. There's simply no denying this.
It's also a fact that fat people and smokers are being hit harder than others by covid
You're doing nothing to help them by defending them. Exactly the opposite. Coddling them won't encourage them to lose weight or stop smoking.
The average cost of a covid patient in the hospital is around 70,000 right now. And it's rising now because the delta varient is causing people to be sick longer and thus longer stays.
Do you think insurance companies are going to eat those costs? Nope. Be prepared for your premium rates to sky rocket in the next couple of years.
We've known since the beginning of the epidemic that people with pre-existing conditions are much more likely to need hospitalization for covid. Obesity causes multiple pre-existing conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, etc...
These people have had a year and a half to lose weight and get healthier. And to quit smoking.
And they didn't. I'm not happy at all that my insurance premiums will be jacked up soon because other people don't have self control or will power to get themselves healthy. Especially in a pandemic that's hitting THEM hard. Seems like they don't care about THEMSELVES too much.
So as nice as they are, it doesn't make it ok that they're sucking my money and other's down the drain.
Sorry if that hurts your feelings. But that's the way it is.
So you enter into a group that you agree to share costs with but you suddenly see fat people as upping the risk. Because the death rate has not gone up in the last year an 1/2. The risks you find unacceptable were there before, COVID presents no additional threat to anyone! It’s exaggerated! It is a manufactured fear! If your premium goes up I suggest that not only have you been brainwashed but you’ve been scammed by your insurance carrier. Why are you here if you are willing to advocate that one group or another is better. I don’t suppose you have anything that increases your likelihood of requiring medical care? Did you have that same rate of risk before the Plandemic? Ever had a child, drive a car, engage in a sport? Maybe you work in an office with lots of chemicals in the decor. I know you live in the country, ingest only non gmos, raise your own non vaccinated meat, you are non on city water and you have no power lines anywhere near your off the grid home. Get real asshole, you’re prejudice and think yourself superior. Grow up. All that working out and clean living you do doesn’t stop you from needing any less health care then anyone else.
You're deranged if you think that people who exercise, eat a healthy diet, and take care of themselves place as much burden on medical/ insurance matters than people who don't.
The same with smoking.
It's a choice, and they're choosing to be fat. The same with smoking.
You seem to be getting pretty upset and taking this personally.
I haven't insulted anyone personally. I'm not rude to fat people, or smokers, in person. I don't even bring up the topics of being fat or smoking with them. So I'm not hurting their feelings with my opinions that are based on facts such as obese people and smokers cost all of us money with the bad choices they make.
You're completely wrong! Both my obese neighbors couldn't wait to get their injections. These people are on any number of drugs already just to keep them upright day to day. On the other hand, I haven't been to the doctor since I gave birth and I'm not on a single drug. Fat people are costly to society. But I totally support your right to be fat if that makes you happy. That's the difference between me and a nazi. I can recognize you're a drain on society without demanding that you be changed or eliminated.
As a Southern woman with a BMI of 22 who lives in one of the top ten states for obesity, I would like to weigh-in on the matter.
Traditional Southern food is notoriously deep-fried and unhealthy. Being obese carries a lot of health risks. I agree with you there, but I have two points of disagreement.
You said the majority of people and the majority is a mathematical quantity greater than 50%. Even the "most obese states" are not majority obese. https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/obesity-rate-by-state
I would argue that obesity, like smoking, brings "old age" to you at a younger age. The obese and smokers age faster and die younger. They get blood pressure medication and cholesterol-lowering medication at a younger age. The health-conscious, if they live long enough, will have high blood pressure in their senior years. The obese get their health problems younger. And they often die younger. I note that the obese states have a lower life expectancy than the less obese states. I believe that this could be significant. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_and_territories_by_life_expectancy
The fat eat themselves to death. The thin can grow old enough to rack up health care expenditures on Medicare in the nursing home.
Oh my Bilgewater, so.... country ham, black-eyed peas, grits and gravy...and a moment of silence for the vegetables?... amirite? Sounds really good right now.
I dislike traditional Southern cooking so none of that sounds good to me, but nothing screams more Southern than a fried Snickers bar at the local country fairs. Or that all the vegetables will have bacon or pork in it for seasoning.
Very good points. And you're right, I was being hyperbolic. But in my defense, I live in one of the fittest cities in America (I think we won first place last year for that, actually) and am not accustomed to seeing so many overweight people as I do when I travel down south.
