This is what I’ve been scratching my head about. Even if there was 30,000 Americans there, we could have them out in 36 hours. We have neighboring allies we could easily drop them off to, to wait and catch a flight back home... it’s not like we HAVE to fly them directly back home on MIL craft wasting time and efforts.
No reason that the largest fighting force in the world can’t rescue their own citizens from a fly by night foreign regime.

They still refuse to say how many US CItizens. They say how many people they have the capacity to get out, how many planes they flew out, and how many SIVs and other "vulnerable people" they got out. But never an exact number of US citizens.
Legal immigration. Those SIV papers are like willy wonka golden tickets.
To me that seems like a war time move. Like in a declared war would be the only time they'd have the authority to conscript private companies like that. Are we at war?
