Ivermectin works by blocking the ACE2 receptors of the spike protein of the virus. Same way it kills parasites. https://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/16/health/16global.html

Yes. From what I've seen, Ivermectin is not classed as an ionophore but it has similar behaviour.
