The short answer, yes.
I remember years ago watching Doomsday Preppers and the stat back then they gave on a CME in the next 10-12 years was rather high and mocked all at once.

Just to keep it simple... the talk is that after ebs there will be 10 days of no internet, and military presentations daily and repetitively via TV. So banking will not be possible. Have cash, fill you gas tank, stash some foods for yourself and pets, have your meds, and tell your loved ones you'll talk as soon as it's done. At least the power will stay on for utilities, so the messages can reach everyone. Our better world will come. It has to, because as we go, so goes the world, and, the children. This is it.
Depending on the part of the country and the time of the year that can be a very dangerous 10 days. That's not even considering societal dangers. Just in terms of heating or air conditioning. It has to be something that takes out comms but not all power.
