Has anyone taking Ivermectin noticed they don't much care for their cats anymore? I'm asking out of curiosity since I've heard of a parasite that brings mice into close proximity with cats so that the mouse will be eaten, thus transferring the parasite to its final host, the cat.
A few articles have suggested that it has a similar effect on humans, driving them to want to be around cats. Curious if anyone has noticed anything.
I've been a cat person all my life. Took ivermectin horse paste for suspected parasites due to low energy level for the past year. Energy is back to normal. Still love my cats and wouldn't be without them. In fact, there's one on my desk keeping me company right now.
The theory you are referring to is the absence of fear. Toxo in rats makes them pursue cats and makes them unafraid of their natural predators. Cats actually carry this disease and give it to humans.
Joe Rogan was confronted by Renato Laranja in the gym and Joe's asks Renato is he has toxoplasmosis because he has such an aggresive attitude. Brazil has a shit load of stray cats and everyone there loves to fight or is unafraid of confrontation. It was a funny reference by Joe Rogan if you understand toxoplasmosis.
There have been some studies that toxoplasmosis in humans contributes to higher likelihood of traffic accidents. Read it, remembered it, no links to share.
