Actually I remember talking a lot about Bush/Kerry in 2004 when I was in 4th grade. Bunch of kids wore Bush or Kerry gear to school, we had a whole session where kids were allowed to talk about why they like the candidate they're choosing to support via merchandise (for the kids wearing the shirts/hats/etc).
ALL THAT BEING SAID: Yeah, this does feel like bullshit. Just seems like a way to get other people to comment what their kids think, to get the conversation started.
I remember having a mock election with our class in elementary school. Much like what you’re saying. But… The candidates were George H. W. Bush, Ross Perot, and Bill Clinton.
I remember years ago, my kid got after a after school detention slip for ending some political discussion with a teacher by calling out the teacher as a Democrat.
They never showed up for the detention and nothing happened.
I just remember laughing and saying, well looks like you hit a nerve. And noting how the slip was written - so emotional and silly.
We had mock elections in my grade school in 1968, so I was at least aware of the presidential race, the candidates, and the eventual winner at nine years old.
They do, they start off parroting their parents or people they're around opinions ... they are sponges soaking up every conversation around them without even knowing it.
It's crazy to me to hear a kid call another kid "Boomer" ... they're not understanding exactly what it means, but it's derogatory and fits their need in the moment.
Not true. When my son was in 4th grade he was able to hold his own with grown ups when discussing politics. He's now 13 and sooo based. He's much more quick minded than I am which comes in handy when dealing with libtards.
i remember in 4th grade they tried to scare us with global warming shit they were telling us when we would become adults wed be living in a jungle then I put my hand up and was like "I love tarzan and swinging around on vines anyway" then she promptly stopped trying to push that as everyone was down with it
I don’t know. Kids listen to what their parents/the adults in their lives say, and then repeat what they’ve heard. Earlier this year, one of my teenage daughters was babysitting a four year old little girl, and that little girl repeated a lot of political talk to us while she was in our care. The sad thing is she was pretty distressed about BiDeN and I hated to see her be so anxious over all this at her age :(.
4th graders don't talk about politics.
I'm calling bullshit on this story.
you are so wrong .... 4th grade they are begining to be in the world
Bbuttt...muh bottoms-thurgeriesez!!

Gerald Ford gave me 200 tax rebate I bought weed
Mine was Reagan vs Carter. Lol.
Same. People got into it. We were all probably just aping our parents but it was discussed.

Bruh, their life is the internet, they see SO much more than we give them credit for.

lol. Where do they get that from?
They hear plenty at my house. We don’t hide politics from the kids.

I definitely talked about Bill Clinton getting a BJ in the Oval Office when I was in 4th grade.
That said, this has a real Rebecca Hazelton tweet kind of vibe to it.
