My family is growing soon! :)
I was asked (by someone I respect) if I intended to save the baby stem cells at birth from the umbilical cord.
Money is not an issue.
I trust this place more than an internet search. Any insight or guidance is appreciated.
God Bless
Absolutely yes! Your chiids own stem cells are the best (by far) source should they ever need a bone marrow transplant. If money is not an issue, please consider it as it could save your child's life someday - if they never need them, they can be donated for some one else that may be needing a BMT.
Thank you for the information. I heard it could also protect the mother or siblings?
yes. for the love of God, yes. I tried with my last child but hospital, at time of birth, never allowed me the option. Truth is, the T cells.... in the chord blood is the most potent and powerful, can be farmed, can be used to literally re-grow teeth, heal the eyes, ears, heart, etc. Any adult has a TON of T cells in their fat cells.... simplified, you can get lipo, then put the fat in a centrifuge, and as it separates into layers, you can have your own T cells, in order to do the same for you... FDA is trying to put an end to the infancy of this methodology... go figure. However, in the interim, you can help your child get around it by saving the chord blood and keeping it properly refrigerated and sealed.
Duck-Duck-Go a company called Cryo-Cell. We used them to save our daughter's stem cells 21 years ago. I think we pay $50 a year for storage.
Same - my son, 19 years ago. $50/yr.
They are having great results now, there are scare stories out there, but most don't make sense. There are a ton, or there were, of videos and studies a few years ago showing all sorts of great stuff. My favorite was using some sort of drops each day, that had stem cells, in a kittens eye. It was a last effort before removing it, it was blind and somewhat shrunken. It grew back completely normal with full sight, I think it took a couple weeks.
I did.
I know several people that have saved their children’s umbilical cord stem cells. There are no ethical issues, the only issue is scientific. Can the stem cell be kept viable for decades and can they be used to “grow” a new kidney or liver (because they are undifferentiated) should your child need it in the future.
I think the ethics thing comes into play when the stem cells are used for another person.
Future developments?
True! In a decade they could have the technology to do it. I would definitely save them if possible.
Thank you
If money is not an issue save it. You can also donate it. They will save it during your delivery.
That is absolutely against God. Maybe it would be some kind of benefit for the child in the future but my guess is it will be used for cloning and other horrifying experiments. Please do not do it. Put it another way. Do you trust the people that will keep it as most companies are corrupt evil and satanic.
How is saving something from your living child against God?
Sure, if money isn’t an issue, why wouldn’t you?
We did, I’ll have to ask the wife the name of the company, but super professional, they showed up that night to pick it up courier service. The tough part is to remember (as your in the middle of delivery) to remind the nurses you’re taking cord blood at the end. It’s harder than you’d think to remember lol. I think the only thing we had to decide was whether we’d take it immediately or leave the baby attached for a few minutes before it happened. Also remember it’s not just a safety net for the kid, it’s also helpful for the parents in certain scenarios.
I wish I had had that option. By all means!
It may be a blessing if you can afford to save the stem cells. Make sure it can be done in the area you live.
