Family friend's baby got covid and has asthma. It has now developed into pneumonia. He is only about 6 months old. Last i heard today the doctor is considering putting him on steroids. I know the protocol that adults should follow, but i dont know anything about treatment for babies. I am afraid for them for what these doctors will do, any info on proper treatments would be appreciated!

I am no expert, so other PharmaFriends may want to chime in, but I do believe NAC is safe for all age ranges and is essential for taking out pneumonia when it develops. It's a key anti-inflammatory and antioxidant and the liver and the lungs are the two places it targets the most by helping the body produce Glutathione.
Also, nebulized Hydrogen Peroxide is another legitimate treatment of pneumonia and lung infections.
The two things you must stop are:
The production of edema due to over production of white blood cells; and Cytokine inflammation leading to scarring and tissue damage.
Please keep us updated, Fren. I want to know how this turns out. Babies and young children literally have no ability to defend themselves against adult malfeasance and medical malpractice.
Budesonide is the steroid inhaler normally used. However, I doubt that a baby could use it. But maybe with a nebulizer.
This in itself is extraordinary. I haven't heard of one baby ever getting 'COVID-19'. The good thing is that the survival rate is essentially 100% for anyone under 18 yrs. of age. Use Zinc, Vitamin C, and let's hope mom is isn't mRNA vaxxed because mother's milk normally provides immunity for babies. If she is vaxxed, then she has made her breast milk toxic.
It’s probably not covid!!! The tests do NOT work, if they follow covid protocols which is do almost nothing and it’s something treatable I would worry they will kill the baby. Covid is typically a mild cold for kids, if it’s RSV that is different and RSV is very dangerous the younger they are. If it were me I would be making sure they test for absolutely everything first, find a doctor that is not crazy for covid. The only children that have died of covid were extremely ill, it does not kill otherwise healthy children, that is per John’s Hopkins . I’m so sorry for them, I’m scared to death my kids have to go to any doctor- I don’t trust any of them. Especially pediatricians, I have 6 kids and we are on our 3rd pediatrician since covid because of alarming things they have said.

If the baby has pneumonia, all of these methods can/should be done at the same time:
Albuterol nebulization will open the airways. Nebulization can be done with O2.
Steroids will help with inflammation of the airway
Pneumonia is treated with antibiotics. This is done whether or not it has a viral or bacterial cause.
Most acute care pediatricians will do right by the babies they care for.
we are not doctors. I would consult a doctor that deals with alternative medicine involving covid protocols for babies.
Believe it or not some people actually are doctors. I know there are people in the medical field here. Those are the ones I am looking for, not a dumbass comment. If you read the post you would know they are consulting a doctor.
Thank you : wtf kind of leftist BS comment was that ..we are here for each other ..if for nothing else advice, support and prayer ..praying for this baby , a child of the most high God a baby created by the great physician Himself ! On a side note my 29 yr old daughter is like a baby, but strong like an adult ..Downs autism and other disabilities ..ive been on my knees many times over her pneumonia diagnosis because she will not take meds ..I’ve tried everything, she clamps her jaws shut even on a near death bed ..hospitals used to admit her ..now I’m afraid as I know what they will do .. I will say for the past few years I had a Dr prescribe me injectable steroids because injectable steroids are tasteless so she can drink in juice , in your friends baby case , milk ! Until I got the injectable they ( 3 to 4 strong people ) had to hold her down and jab a big needle of steroids in her legs , in most cases it was still a struggle to do it . The injectable squirted in juice has saved her life , it opened up her airways so she could breath , should do antibiotics but she refused so we rode it out with just steroids , however I’m afraid her DR will no longer do this with the covid death crap procedures or protocols . I’m worried for her . I will continue to pray for this precious child and please keep us posted ..it is probably not covid ..pneumonia yes as well as other flu type illness needing antibiotics ..I pray they are able to keep baby at home with these treatments .
That explains why I was ill for a week, Mr Handshake? I had fever, myalgia, loss of taste, cough, etc. I guess you could say that I had a special form of flu.
Weird since I don't know of any other virus which causes loss of taste and smell
