I took my youngest son 13, to the ER to check for broken ribs (hockey parent here - just bruised) I'm a father of five and have had plenty of experience in the ER. I have never seen it so busy. Waiting room was filled with young people. One mother and 20 something son were checking in. He had apparently just had a previous blood clot and was now experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath with elevated heart rate. Hours later we were called in. I was expecting to be asked if my son was Vaccinated but instead was asked if we would ever approve blood transfusions! Was this a trick question? I said "Not now. Not since blood is taken from the Vaccinated." Anyone have similar experiences? This has to stop!

Questions for my frens here. I have been donating blood on and off for many years, but since the beginning of this year I have donated every two months without having to wear a mask.
Last month when I went in to donate, I was in the facility for 20 minutes without a mask, checking in, filling out the questionnaire, getting my blood pressure taken, etc. As the worker there was going to poke the finger, she asked if I had a mask. I stated "no" and was told according to OSHA regulations I needed to wear a mask in order to donate.
I told her I would not wear a mask to donate and I left the center. When I got home I sent an email to our local blood center and told them I would not be donating until the removed the mask mandate. Since then I have received several emails reminding me I am eligible to donate and/or they are in desperate need for my blood type. I respond to each stating why I will not donate.
So finally: would you still donate even if you had to wear a mask? I am starting to feel a little guilty and could wear a mask for the 1/2 hour it takes to get through the process. Thoughts?
Do NOT comply. This mask BS needs to stop. It is NOT for health or safety.
You got principles (libs think it's a fault). Why did you refuse the mask in the first place? Exercise some personal discipline and stick to yer guns sparty.
Keep fighting. NEVER give in because this is even more important than giving blood.
Don’t buckle. They need to learn that we will not comply with their silly pretend games. It has to stop.
I'm never wearing a mask again and I'm never going to take their shitty products again.
You do you. But I hope you'll help hold the line.
Do not comply. This has to end. Was in a major retail "superstore" today and they were shouting at me when I walked in the door. I just said, "I have one thanks!" and pointed to the mask I wear on my wrist. Then I went to customer service to return something and the woman told me I needed a mask and I said, "Yea whatever but we both know it's bullshit." She waited on me anyway. I thanked her profusely for helping me and then I went shopping. The guy in the frozen food aisle didn't say a thing, but did help me look for something. Not a single customer said anything either - nary a Karen in the store apparently. I was the only person in the store without a mask though, and that made me sad.
I went to a Publix grocery store in an upper middle class town in Central Florida yesterday. So many people are wearing masks again! I was in Texas for 5 weeks so missed the Delta fear hitting here in FL. I was sad to see how many are still fooled.
But it was probably less than 50% wearing them at least. Last spring I would be the only one not wearing one and the announcements would be pleasing to please wear a mask.
I was going to consider giving blood this week. I used to do it all the time years ago. But then I was thinking...what if I donate blood and it was tested and found that I had antibodies (had the wuflu recently). I wouldn’t want that on record anywhere in case they start needing pure bloods with antibodies for elites or for whatever reason. I don’t trust anything or anyone anymore with info of any type about me or my blood.
No, force them to drop the mandate. If they get enough people like you they will have to change their practices. My younger sister has donated for years, she's type AB. She no longer will donate.
I would not bend on that. It is not selfish of you to not donate due to their stipulations regarding donations.
Example in a different perspective; a beggar on the street won't take money i want to put in his cup unless i don the mask. Too bad, someone else will. Its not my loss.
I applaud you standing up for your principles. At the end of the day, you're donating blood to help a person in need. If a teenager was in a terrible car crash and couldn't be saved because there wasn't enough blood donated, would it matter if you were standing up for your mask rights? I would maybe find a happy medium and keep blasting them with emails like you're doing and talking to someone there explaining that you are happy to donate and have done so regularly but you do not believe it is in your best interest to wear a mask and see if they can give and exemption in your profile. If they say no I would be snarky and tell them that it's nice to know they have so much that they're not accepting donations anymore. In my opinion that's the best way to push back on the mask issue.
Yes, I thought about calling them directly, so thank you for that. Exactly what you stated is why I am feeling guilty. It just irks me that for the 8 previous months no one said anything to me about wearing a mask. I'm sure it is now because of the "Delta variant", but....
I feel ya. Thank you for donating so regularly regardless!
No. You can’t trust them not to accidentally... purposely infect you or vaccinate you...
If they needed blood that badly then don't force people to wear masks. I'm not going to support any organization that forces me to wear a mask.
I don't even trust Red Cross any more. I stopped donating about 10 years ago. Do they really need that many transfusions?
They wouldn't get ideal blood if you have one of those stupid fucking diapers on your face, because your oxygen would be below what's considered normal.
Whoever is there is a fucking idiot. If I were you, I wouldn't go back there even if they get rid of that bullshit mask mandate.
