PLEASE TELL ME WHY!!!! There's NO reason to build this if you're AT THE WHITE HOUSE!

There are photos (one was posted here yesterday) that show that very setup, the tiered seating and this stage all in one shot.

If you look closely you can see the lighting in the ceiling (they are turned off) above the seating area are the same elongated shape as in your photo. And the gaps between the ceiling panels are the same. The stage must have had a renovation recently because the hardwood flooring obviously is an improvement over that nasty looking carpet. I bet that was done by Trump. I guarantee you this is the same room.
I'm still not sold. In the pic from yesterday, they are on a stage. If you look at the stage of the SCA, it is not deep enough to support that set. There is also a facade curving above the end of the stage. It is not in yesterday's photos. While logic would say, yes - most likely SCA, there are architectural differences I am seeing between the rooms. Like the door at the end of the stage - single door vs double door. There is also a difference in ceiling heights. All of those are very to impossible to change during a remodel.
Follow up reporting changed the venue from the WH to the SCA. Go look at photos of the SCA and its evident it isn't the same room. No matter what you do in a remodel, you ain't getting around a sloped floor and ceiling height.
I'm pretty sure that they made a new set design for Biden. It looks cheesy as hell to me. Remember that the photos in tbe link I gave are at least 8 years old.
If you look at off stage photos of President Trump using that Auditorium, the ceiling and overhead lighting and press seats look pretty much the same.
Doesn't look like the same room to me. No ramp on the stage. Different elevations. Different ceiling heights and structural differences. Also no indication "that I've seen" that they ever put up the fake white house wall to mimick the white house. But I could be wrong on that part.
The stage has been extended out towards the front row of the seating. Most likely the ramp is still there underneath the new stage floor. The room looks different because the wall with the fake windows is obscuring the black double doors that are normally seen prior to the expansion of the stage. It’s the same room with a freshened up stage.
My question is:
If the press schedule said it was to be filmed in the Eisenhower Building, why was it filmed at the White House?
The Eisenhower building is considered part of the White House compound. It's located across the street from the White House itself, and has underground tunnels that connect them.
The Eisenhower building is where the offices are for EOP employees, and where the SCA is, where they filmed this.
The press tends to lump together all the buildings on the compound as "The White House" for the sake of convenience. Not many people outside of DC knows where or what the Eisenhower building is, but do know (or should) the White House.
Gotcha. Did not know they were connected. Thank you for the explanation.
No problem. Most people aren't aware of it. The only reason I know is because I was a tour guide in DC for a few years, and had to learn a lot of obscure stuff for the job.
