I went to Europe as a kid. I used to wonder why new buildings didn't have scrolls, columns and beautiful architecture. Even cars are boring now, unless you can afford a super car.
Also: all cars are now white, black, or a metallic/shade in the gray family. All cars also look pretty much alike. No flavor or personality.
Fashion is ugly, poorly made, and unoriginal.
As for paintings? "art" is crap slathered on a canvas by people who have no skill or talent. Homes are devoid of quality workmanship, all look the same, and are painted GREIGE.
The top image evokes a sense of wonder, awe, and appreciation for all that beauty and skill. The bottom? It makes me feel “blah”.

I toured Europe at 18. I wasn't overly religious, but you feel God in the absolute beauty of the cathedrals and art.
