Yes, they don't want you to feel joy or be inspired.
I went to Europe as a kid. I used to wonder why new buildings didn't have scrolls, columns and beautiful architecture. Even cars are boring now, unless you can afford a super car.
Also: all cars are now white, black, or a metallic/shade in the gray family. All cars also look pretty much alike. No flavor or personality.
Fashion is ugly, poorly made, and unoriginal.
As for paintings? "art" is crap slathered on a canvas by people who have no skill or talent. Homes are devoid of quality workmanship, all look the same, and are painted GREIGE.
When we got our truck a couple of years ago, I had found a similar truck at another dealership that was a really good price, but was a unique blue color - was looking to negotiate the price. The salesman admitted it was a good price but in part because he said it wasn't a 'fleet color. Apparently the unique colors are harder to move off the lots and with so many leases these days, they want to he sure they can sell the car at a later point.
Totally agree.

I toured Europe at 18. I wasn't overly religious, but you feel God in the absolute beauty of the cathedrals and art.

Paul Joseph Watson did a series on ugly art and architecture that was right on the money.
I went to an art museum in San Francisco. One installation was a blank white canvass next to a blank white canvass. It was just crap.
