I feel like he's more of a tactic to grab people and keep them stuck at a not as extreme view. The things he says are perfectly reasonable, but he lacks a certain depth to him.

I think what makes him controlled opposition is that I do think there are certain redpilled issues he won't go into. The idea is to keep people at a happy medium that is not TOO skeptical of the status quo.
Him not going deep enough doesn't make him controlled opp. He keeps a simpler message that is crucial and is wide-reaching.
