Though I've always believed it a terrible lack of character to refuse to pay a debt, I now believe our idiots in congress have spent us into such an abyss, the only thing that can be done is to ignore it. I know that sounds terrible, but what hope is there of ever paying back trillions?
Study the creation of the US State of Georgia. Like Australia but specifically from debtors' prison. Until GW Bush, Georgia had the strongest bankruptcy laws in the nation. Bankruptcy has always been an important part of our revolution and history.
As George Bernard Shaw said, "debt is the modern substitute for whips and chains." When you realize it's forced (ok, strongly compelled) on people by design, and how the lenders never want the principal paid back, bankruptcy is a strike for freedom. Among other things, Trump is famous for declaring bankruptcy and creating prosperity afterwards.
I am the same way, but to me the thing is they weren't acting with our consent. They had no authority to borrow that money most of them were probably not even actually elected. If they are not our true representatives the whole thing is a fraud. There never was a legitimate agreement.
Our ancestors dumped tea in the Boston Harbor because they had 'taxation without representation.' Now we've got it even worse. We have taxation with MISrepresentation.
Let me tell you a little story… I had a credit card through Bank of America, during the Covid incident, they gave me 3 to 4 months off my payments. So basically I didn’t have to pay for three or four months. Well during that time, we had all the black life‘s matter rioting and looting and murdering. At that time they gave $1 billion to that organization. Well it came time for me to start making my credit card payment again, and they called to talk to me about it. The lady seemed nice, she said they were recording the conversation, and I told her good because I have something to say. are you sure you recording this because this is really important to me. I told her that if Bank of America want it they’re $100 a month payment they could go talk to black lives matter about it. Since he had given them $1 billion, I’m sure that they could afford it. I agree with you wholeheartedly paying my debt off, but after watching what happened last summer, and knowing that these banks are supporting that, I could not Morally contribute to such madness!
I’m sure it’s on my credit record, to be perfectly honest though I don’t need it for anything so it doesn’t matter to me. Credits only worthwhile if you need it for something. And since I don’t - they have no power over me!
Whose debt is it? If an entity spends money they will supposedly take from you in the future and you have no say over the spending, do you owe that debt?
In the Federal Reserve system, all new money is issued as debt with interest owed - therefore the debt will always increase over time. It cannot be paid back in full since more debt is created than money. The only way out of the debt spiral is a solution that is outside the confines of the system, huge amounts of negative interest rates, or for those profiting from the interest to be the ones that also owe the debt.
