Ever notice how no one questions the dystopian narratives? Like, in John Wick, "They put a contract out on you" never gets questioned. A bunch of sexy derps with piercings and sleeves typing out your contract on classic Corona typewriters. It's just included in the plot because everyone just naturally understands that there's an unaccountable, all-powerful elite behind the scenes everywhere.
The MRA furor in the news over Fury Road was a redpill that a lot of it was made up and astroturfed. All these claims that Max is just a side character in his own movie make no sense if you watch it and see that Max saves everyone's ass repeatedly and Furiosa, while she has several good moments, would have failed and been captured in the first 30 minutes if not for Max being in the right place at the right time. Even Nuk despite all his screwups accomplishes more than most of the women.
I don't know about that.
I like dystopian, post apocalyptic stories.
They're just not making very many good ones

Mad Max Fury Road was pretty great

I haven't, I'll check it out sometime!
