The important thing to look for is, is it open source, meaning is the source code (stuff programmers write) publicly available. It doesn't guarantee that there's no security issues, but transparency cleanses self interest.
Brave is open source, like Signal Private Messenger, like Linux, like Bitcoin, like Tor. You can search online for the source code, the most popular site for this is github, but it was recently bought by Microsoft.
Thanks for clarifying! Who can trust the MSM anyway? Article published by news.com, lifted from The Sun. But if everyone deleted this crap the world would be slightly better IMHO
You mean the same chrome built into most devices? lmfao I shouldn't be laughing at this but I can't help it. Hey, you know that thing pre installed on your phone that you can only disable and you can't delete without root/jailbreak because we made it that way? Yeah you should probably delete that. How? I don't know your problem not mine. But if you do unauthorized things to your phone then your warranty is void. Good luck with that.
Turns out Orwell was off about the tvs that record us we can't turn off or get away from, looks like it's phones that record us we use as TV the people are addicted to and they bring it willingly and they pump them with propaganda instead of what they want but just enough dopamine rush to keep them hooked like a digital drug.
My main point is it's not the same as having a mandatory TV you can't shut of that spews propaganda mounted as a surveillance device. It's not as efficient as multiple portable and stationary devices people willing keep around and are addicted to with built-in surveillance equipment and data monitoring. Basically the same results through a means that suits our level of technology because to be fair I wouldn't expect him to predict smart phones that are mini portable wireless TV radio computers. The built-in spy camera and microphones in TV was basically applied to any electronics so he didn't go far enough for one reason or another and underestimated the potential of the carrot over the stick and saving the stick for political opponents.
i use Brave ...not worried .../!
Chromium is the open source subset of chrome
can somebody reassure me that brave is good and not a classic alphabet data harvesting operation

What does this translate to for chromebook users?
Throw them in the trash.
They actually can almost all be used as excellent GNU/Llinux laptops, some of them are even Libreboot capable.
For clarity, I find nothing that says Google is advising people to delete their app.

Why should it be up to buildtheheadytum to clarify? Even the headline of theirs says to update, not delete.
Yeah, I read through the article again, I was thinking he/she was searching for other sources

How many warranties actually get fulfilled.
Most of the time they are not even needed anyway lol.
Every day I find another cool reason why I will never own a 'smart phone', cheers Fren!

No, many tv's and other devices have microphones and/or cameras in them also.
